Blether, Neilston

Blether, Neilston A community shop run by the community for the community.

15/06/2026

Blether would not last a week without the endless dedication of its hard-working, committed team of volunteers.

As we keep growing, we are always delighted to welcome new people to our Blether crew.

If you have a bit of spare time and energy, and would like to be a part of what we do, please call into the shop during our opening hours to ask for a volunteer form.

We have new shampoo and conditioner bottles in our shop, patchouli and sandalwood, from Alter/Native. We also sell shampoo and body wash in refill containers, as well as a wide range of cleaning products like laundry liquid and washing up liquid.

Also new in, we have two flavours of kombucha: yuzu, mint and matcha from Suma, and blueberry and ginger from Hip Pop.

Eggs from Ramstane farm are now available in the shop, and you we are no longer limiting them to 2 boxes per customer, you can buy as now many as you need. At £2.50 per half a dozen, they are an amazing price for pasture raised eggs.

We're here for the community, so if there is anything you'd like to see in the shop, let us know and we will do our best to source it.

Opening hours announcement for this coming Friday, 22nd of May, and Monday, 25th May.

When schools close, we move our day time opening hours to 11 to 1pm. This is to allow families to call in for lunch and snacks for the day, as well as dinners.
Evening hours remain unchanged.

We will be posting a reminder of the change of hours in the shop. If you know someone who isn't on social media, and isn't around the next few days, please pass on this information to them.

Separately, you may have noticed we now have Ramstane farm pasture raised eggs back in the shop. There is no limit on the number you can buy, as we can order as many as we need for the foreseeable.

With the elections looming, and the UK media encouraging a fear of asylum seekers and refugees, and perpetuating false myths about the expenses they cost the UK, the Scottish Refugee Council have put together leaflets with information on the actual reality of claiming asylum and being a refugee in Scotland.

We have some of these available at Blether if you would like to pick one up to share with family and friends, or in your workplace.

We are glad to be on the Scottish Refugee Council's new scots connect map:
