Fabulous work by Karen Watson Davison and all who supported her in the 24hr badminton event- this magnificent community based event raised a staggering sum of money that was presented yesterday to Adam of Tackle Prostrate Cancer. This money will secure Prostrate Cancer support not only in Morpeth but in the whole of Northumberland as others develop support groups in their towns. It’s truly heart warming to know that this type of generous support from our local community is there and will be directly helping to support your Dads, Grandads, Brothers, Sons and Uncles who are affected by PC. Thank you so very much for what you’ve all achieved❤️

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Dermot Murnaghan following his diagnosis of advanced prostate cancer.

Dermot was a highly respected journalist and broadcaster who brought warmth, professionalism and integrity to everything he did. Following his diagnosis, he spoke openly and courageously about his experience, helping to raise awareness of prostate cancer and encouraging men to take their health seriously.

As an ambassador for Prostate Cancer Research, Dermot used his voice and platform to support our mission to improve diagnosis, treatment and outcomes for men affected by the disease. His willingness to share his story helped shine a light on the realities of living with prostate cancer and inspired many others to seek information, support and medical advice.

Our thoughts are with Dermot’s family, friends and colleagues at this incredibly difficult time.

Dermot’s determination to help others, even while facing his own diagnosis, will leave a lasting legacy. We are deeply grateful for his support and proud to have worked alongside him.

Our next regular meeting is in the coffee lounge at Morpeth Methodist Church on Howard Terrace at 6pm on Wednesday 24th of June. Come along to talk, share or just listen- it’s completely free and you will be in very good company. Hope to see you on the night.
