A another busy afternoon in the woods, and nearly another full turnout of the teams.

The two Dads Daz & Stuart, ably assisted by Fred, Flynn & Taylan took charge of fitting our new roof to the container, as part our 'Water Catchment Project'.

Just needs some cosmetic work, next week.

Dennis & Chris's teams of Jack, William, Tyler, Halo, Harry No2 & Paul worked on clearing the brash off the footpaths, well done 👏🏿

Forestry paid us a vist today to clear the trees overhanging the Railway Walk & main footpath at entrance to Clarkspring Woods, blown over last weekend

Fantastic service and you'd hardly known they'd been, all put away into nice wood piles, we need our volunteers to look & learn!

Tony & team from Groundworks paid us a vist to day as part of one of thier Environmental Training Courses, their mission was to tidy up the brash at the top of Clarkspring Woods left by the CEGB while pollarding the trees under the pylons.

They managed to salvage lots of rustic poles & posts suitable for our future hedge projects.

That will keep some folk happy 😊

They were chaperoned by Cat & Lee

A busy Thursday for the teams.

The 'Early Doors Team' (Dave & Brian) worked from home today, building the replacement bench for Pit Hill.

The Morning Team (John & Mick) spent the morning shifting brash & tidying up.

The 'Navvies' this afternoon welcomed Paul to the team, so he joined Cat, Lisa and Chris on dead hedging the brash from last weekends fallen trees.

The rest of the 'Navvies' (Colin & Lee) fitted the guttering to the container, for our new water catchment system.

So a busy Thursday

Forestry have accessed the 2 damaged trees by the Railway Walk & footpath & cordedened the area off?
Its now on thier priority list.

I only left Lee 5min sweeping the leaves off the grass infront of our container, only to return to find half of Churwell helping him!

A busy day for the Tuesday Teams, the Navvies (Lee & Co) started in the morning working on the container roof, Lee also did some raking up of the fallen brash left from this weekend.

In the afternoonjoinedby the rest of the team ( Colin Chris & Nigel) went with Colin's trailer to collect 2 loads of donated rockery stone, and a nice joist.

The Maintainance Dept ( Mick & Dennis) rewired our small trailer ready for use,
along with a few other maintainance jobs.

Good to work without the wind & rain today.
