Community Clean up. 😊

Tonight, some of the club members took part in a litter pick at Montrose seafront.

Our environmental lead Holly Brown organised the clean up and picked a cracking night for it. ☀️ Several bags of litter were collected from the dunes, beach and surrounding whins. 👊

INTRODUCING THE THIRD LOCAL CHARITY ROTARY IN MONTROSE IS SUPPORTING THIS YEAR AT OUR CHARITY GOLF DAY FRIDAY 10TH JULY.

Coorie House, set in the grounds of Rossie Young People’s Trust, is a new initiative which will support siblings who have been separated by the care system to spend meaningful time together in a fun, safe and dignified way. This will include children and young people placed at Rossie and their families, as well as those from communities across Scotland.

Brothers and sisters who do not, or cannot live together, should not be disadvantaged in the time that they can spend in each other’s company. A high-quality environment with caring, knowledgeable, trauma-informed supporters will enable children and young people to make happy childhood memories within the relationships that will last the longest in their lives.

The project will see volunteers matched up to sibling groups who will come to visit Coorie House, our purpose-built lodge and outdoor play area, and enjoy a fun, bespoke session which has been planned to meet their individual and familial needs.

Our very own Rotarian Teresa is an active volunteer at Coorie House, well done Teresa, we are proud of you 👏👏👏👍

INTRODUCING THE SECOND LOCAL CHARITY ROTARY IN MONTROSE IS SUPPORTING THIS YEAR AT OUR CHARITY GOLF DAY FRIDAY 10TH JULY.

Art Moves was formed in 2003 to enable the people of Angus with disabilities to realise their full potential by participating in drama, art, and music. Through Art Moves members are given the opportunities to involve themselves in all aspects of the arts, working with professional art practitioners in workshops on topics such as drumming, drama, music, dance, photography, fashion shows, art, ceramics and digital media.

Art Moves are currently based in The Webster Theatre, Arbroath and this summer will once again present their annual Shakespearian play to a full house.

Why Shakespeare? The members will tell you it's because Shakespeare is the greatest playwright, he wrote at least 37 plays, so plenty to choose from, and each one is so individual in style, story and scope. "Shakespeare gives us ambition... allowing us to play kings and queens, governors, priests, aristocrats...along side...fairies, invisible sprites, goddesses, and creatures that are half human and half animal."

It is easy to see how this small charity inspires confidence amongst its members, and how its members continually amaze the public through their art, music and drama presentations.

INTRODUCING THE FIRST OF OUR LOCAL CHARITIES ROTARY IN MONTROSE IS SUPPORTING THIS YEAR AT OUR CHARITY GOLF DAY FRIDAY 10th JULY.

Montrose Union Park Community Sports Hub Continues to Strengthen Health, Wellbeing and Community Participation

The charity was established with the objective of advancing public participation in sport, improving health and wellbeing, and promoting lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Through the provision of recreational facilities, organised sporting activities and community programmes, the Hub is creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to become more active, connected and engaged.

A key focus of the charity is the development of a new clubhouse at Union Park. The facility will provide modern, accessible accommodation for sports clubs, community organisations and local residents, creating a vibrant centre for recreation, health and social inclusion.

Even before the completion of the new clubhouse, Union Park Community Sports Hub is already providing valuable facilities and support for a wide range of local groups and activities, including:

- Male and female rugby teams
- T1 Rugby
- Montrose Befriending
- Mental health support groups
- MoFest community activities
- Sports massage services
- Touch rugby sessions
- Other community-based recreational and wellbeing initiatives.

The Hub's work directly supports the advancement of public participation in sport and the provision of recreational facilities and activities designed to improve the conditions of life for those who use them. By bringing together sport, health, wellbeing and community development, the charity is helping to create a stronger, healthier and more connected Montrose.
