We are making some changes and thought we should let you know in advance.

Please join us on Sunday, 13th December from approx 4:30pm - 7.30pm to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Monmouth Christmas Lantern Parade! 🌟
We are switching to a Sunday and starting a bit earlier this year to make the event more family-friendly and to reduce disruption for our beautiful town.
We hope to see you there.

More information will be shared about the event and workshops at a much more acceptable time of the year 😁

Wow, Monmouth! What a resilient, amazing community we have. You battled the awful wind and rain to join the Christmas Lantern Parade, lighting up the streets with your wonderful, handmade lanterns. You then stood strong in the rain to cheer on our fantastic stage performers. Just a little reminder that Monnow street will be temporarily closed this afternoon/evening to motor vehicles for the safety of our wonderful lantern parade. Please do not park on the street after 5:30 unless you are happy for your vehicle to be trapped there for a while as movement within the closure is dangerous. Thank you ever so much for your assistance with this. See you all this afternoon!

Monmouth Christmas Lantern Parade with help from Rotary Monmouth will be collecting for Monmouth's Flood appeal at the Monmouth Christmas Lantern Parade 2025 this evening.

In the wake of the heartbreaking floods that have devastated our community, we are more determined than ever to bring some much-needed light to Monmouth. The Monmouth Christmas Lantern Parade will still take place on Friday, December 5th.
We invite everyone to gather from 5:45 PM at the Old Monnow Bridge—an area that has only just emerged from the high waters.

Our town has endured so much, and now, we have an even bigger, more emotional reason to come together, support one another, and make Monmouth "shine with lanterns" as a symbol of our resilience and community spirit.

We understand that the community is still recovering from the devastating floods, and it will take some time for things to return to normal. We sincerely hope that proceeding with the lantern parade won't cause offense during this sensitive period. Our intention is to unite the community, celebrate the incredible spirit we share, and offer hope for the future.

✨ Rock Choir • Choirs led by Karl Montgomery-Williams will proudly open this year’s Lantern Parade with a performance at 6pm at the Old Monnow Bridge Gatehouse.
Fiery Jack Entertainment will also be performing from 6pm.
We invite everyone to come together in unity and celebration. Let’s light up the night and make our town sparkle once again! ✨️
