This will be an informal get-together where you can hear about our progress in the last year, vote for the new committee and raise and discuss any shop-related issues. The bar will be open.

Want to help your community and enjoy yourself?

As summer approaches, a busier Pantry needs more volunteers, Monday-Saturday. Even a couple of hours would be appreciated, and there are plenty of ways to be helpful even if you don’t want to touch the till!

Please ask in the shop or email [email protected] for more information. You will be made very welcome.

As many of you know by now, Linda, our shop manager for over three and a half years, has decided to move on to pastures new in October. Linda was the first manager to take over when the Pantry became a community enterprise — a nervous time for us all — but under her guidance the shop has been a welcoming, cheerful and well-run place, both for volunteers and for customers. She has handled the many ups and downs with good humour and common sense, and it’s been a delight to work with her. She is going to work at the new health centre in Cinderford, where her friendliness will certainly come in useful, but hopefully it won’t require so much stocking of shelves! All the members of the Pantry committee are really sad to see her go, and we wish her well. We are of course committed to the continuing success of the Pantry!

Can you spare just a few hours each week to help out in the Pantry? As you know, the atmosphere is friendly and you will not be left on your own. Give it a try!

Do you own shares in The Pantry? If so, then you are a member of the Community Benefit Society, which means you are entitled to come to the Annual Members' Meeting, held tomorrow (24th) at 7pm at the Pavilion. This is an informal get-together where you can hear how the Pantry is doing, vote for a new steering committee and make comments and ask questions. See you there!

News about the monthly raffle for The Pantry

This provides an essential source of funds to keep the shop going. So the committee has decided to continue the raffle into a second year. The format will be the same – a draw on the second Thursday of each month – but the prizes will be slightly different, as follows:
1st Prize - £100 voucher (or £50 cash)
2nd Prize - £75 voucher (or £37 cash)
3rd Prize - £50 voucher (or £25 cash)
4th Prize - £25 voucher (or £12 cash).

If you have been taking part you will have received an email about continuing. Thank you if you have done so! A ticket is just £5 per month and you can pay by standing order or up front. Please email [email protected] or pick up details in the shop. Thank you for your support - it really helps!
