When we support families, for many years with our Continuing Care, we neither expect or ask for anything back.

It’s really wonderful when those we support , support us to ensure that other families can receive the care that they do.

I met Charley in 2019, she was a very poorly little girl at the time. I see her at least once a month for our swimming and other activities. She gives great hugs 🙂

Her nanny is creating the most beautiful items with 50% going to me&dee.

Dear Hope,

I created you 8 years ago, never imagining just how many hearts you would touch, how many tears you would catch or how many precious memories you would be trusted to hold. My one wish was that you would bring a little comfort to families when their world was falling apart.

I don't know whose arms will hold you next, whose tears will fall upon your soft grey fur or whose heartbreaking story you will become part of.

But I do know this...

Somewhere, someone will need you more than words can ever explain.

So when a parent is struggling to be strong, let them hold you tightly.

When a child is frightened, be their little friend.

When the nights feel endless and the future feels uncertain, remind them they are not alone.

And if the day comes when all they have left are memories, please help them hold onto every precious one.

I wish I could promise you that every family you meet will have a happy ending. But I can't.

All I can ask is that you bring a little love, a little comfort and a little light into their darkest days.

Eight years ago, I gave you the name Hope. I never imagined just how much that one little word could mean.

We’re delighted that Liam Connolly is taking on the Ultra White Collar Boxing challenge, raising vital funds for me&dee and another fantastic charity!

Liam is currently in week two of his eight-week training programme, preparing for fight night on Saturday 12th December!

There is so much that we do that few realise. It’s why we are full blast, every day, nights, weekends.

We support the Royal Derby and children’s ward at Burton.

I started this relationship when I worked completely alone 16 years ago. 4 years into me&dee. I met Fran at Derby and Kirsty at Burton, setting up our comfort pack scheme.

16 years on that support remains. I’ve been a chameleon sometimes with that, when funds have been as they are now, very low, through Covid and my own health challenges.

It was heart warming, and uplifting to visit with Charlotte yesterday. What we do isn’t easy. It’s for heartbreaking situations but we know brings comfort and allows memories to be made in end of life care and at the end of life. And we are greeted so warmly by all the nurses we work with.

Our first visit to the ICU End of Life unit, ‘delivering Hope’ with her voice recorder and special tin, our handmade angels from Jan, and what the nurses cherish most, our prints for adding fingerprints to.

From there to the children’s wards. We delivered £400 of your amazing Costa Card contributions. These are given out by nurses to parents spending long days and nights, living on a chair next to their very poorly child. We delivered Hope, baby Hope and Hope comfort blanket along with our monthly toys, crayons and colouring books, fidget toys and cuddlies.

As Charlotte whizzed back to the office, I had a long and emotional but so positive meeting with Kate from neonatal and Rebecca from the mortuary. We have plans 🙂 and seeing how much our memory making items for such precious end of life moments are received is just so wonderful.

My niece Donna Nash design, and those from Cards Jo Wilson are loved.

This week, we're shining the spotlight on our wonderful neighbours Box Construction! 🩷

Some businesses really do go above and beyond, and Box Construction are certainly one of them!

Whether it's our Annual Golf Day, Charity Quiz Nights, Corporate Football Tournaments or any other fundraising opportunity, the team at Box Construction are always there, ready and willing to support me&dee.

We're getting ready for our final Costa Coffee gift card delivery to local hospitals!

Our campaign is drawing to a close at the end of November, and with Christmas just around the corner, we're kindly asking everyone to return their collections, fundraising packs and Costa Coffee gift cards to us by Monday 30th November.

This will give us time to prepare for our final delivery to local hospitals before Christmas, giving parents spending the festive season beside their child's hospital bed a little gift of kindness❤️

A Fantastic Day at Our Annual Charity Golf Day!

On Friday 2nd October, we welcomed 80 golfers to Matlock Golf Club for our Annual Charity Golf Day, and what a brilliant day it was!

It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces, alongside some new ones, coming together for a day of golf, friendly competition and fundraising in support of me&dee charity.

Our wonderful Anita has been busy creating a lovely selection of handmade decorations to raise funds for me&dee charity.

Anita has made some beautiful decorative angel wings using casting powder, giving them a solid, smooth finish. These are available for just £4 each, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to me&dee charity!

She has also created a range of other handmade decorations, with 50% of the proceeds from these items being donated to us.
