Well, the choir threw themselves into wearing something pink and raising funds for Ashgate Hospice at rehearsal yesterday with their usual enthusiasm. We raised £76.50 for the wonderful caring hospice in spite of several people being absent, so well done all.

There were pink wigs, hats, blouses, feather boas and cakes, oh and some singing too, when we could stop laughing and giggling at the costumes.

Queen, tutus and paper plates, what on earth is Matlock Community Choir up to now? Oh, just having some fun with warm-ups before singing some lovely songs. We all enjoyed going from belting out well-known lyrics to learning a 3-part harmony to Anna Tabbush's beautiful 'Au Revoir'.

You never know quite what to expect when you walk in through the door on a Tuesday afternoon, but you know it's always going to be fun. This week a singing-and-name game added to the hilarity. Thanks for being such a good sport, er... Candy.

Two very special visitors came to rehearsal on Tuesday 28th July - it was great to see Ally and Leisha again. We sang 'Sound of Silence', and an old favourite 'Fix You' and all had a cuppa and a catch-up.

What a fantastic DaleDiva workshop it was yesterday, attended by some Matlock Community Choir and The Belper Community Choir members. We learned a 3-part harmony to Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' as well as some fun warm-ups, the Divas performing 3 songs for us and CAKE too!

The choir were thrilled to be invited to sing with and for people with dementia at St. John's Church, Walton, yesterday. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to be asked back again soon.
