If you are in immediate danger call the police on 999 (if you can’t speak, cough or tap the handset then press 55 on your phone - the police will know it’s an emergency). Otherwise, call the non-emergency number 101 or visit your local police station to speak with an officer in confidence. For non-emergency support and safety planning from Oasis:

Alternatively, call the freephone National Domestic Violence Helpline on 0808 2000 247 (run in partnership between Women’s Aid and Refuge) or the Mens’ Advice Line 0808 801 0327. We want to make our page a safe and friendly environment for supporters to follow our work and share their fundraising and events ideas. To do this, we will sometimes have to remove posts that are: - offensive - inflammatory - insensitive - advertising, private or commercial - irrelevant - compromising to someone's safety. There are several ways you can make contact with us if you're worried you or someone you know is experiencing abuse and control:

1. We attend drop ins in Gillingham on Tuesdays and in Dover on Thursdays - these ‘One Stop Shop’ drop-in centres provide immediate support for you to get free, confidential advice from a range of professionals in one place at one time. Find the times and exact locations on our website which is linked in the comments below.

2. Call our free helpline on 0800 917 9948 - Monday to Friday, between 10am and 2pm

3. Email us at [email protected]

Our trained specialist support workers will listen to you, assess your individual risk and talk you through the right support options for your situation, helping you to plan what to do next.

At the end of the assembly, Danielle asked them to wave their flags if they’d learned anything new and enjoyed the assembly, and off they went. A gift in your will could help more families find safety after domestic abuse. Mrs Brown's husband told us, “I know how important it was for my wife to continue her support for the most vulnerable people after she’d gone. She knew that any gift she left in her Will would make a difference and the world a safer place. She wanted to protect and provide for people locally. We enjoyed a wonderful, happy, marriage. Domestic abuse is so devastating for all involved – particularly children. But we have seen firsthand the difference the Oasis staff team can make to people in abusive relationships – the wonderful work they do to make people safe, the kindness and reassurance that things will get better and that they are there to help.”

In the past couple of months our brilliant children’s team have taken little ones pizza making at Macknades, Wildwood, the Spitfire Museum, Mount Ephraim, pegwell bay seal watching, golf, fishing (of course), seashore safaris and Walmer castle.

We were also able to give families we support tickets to Legoland, Chessington, Wingham Safari park, bowling, and trampolining - which they’ve LOVED.

When we consider the financial impact domestic abuse has on families, and how expensive it can be for a simple family day out, we start to realise how children can miss out on many experiences of their peers. Making memories like this is something which bonds families together, and it’s all part of the healing journey we do our best to support with.
