The UK Pole Doubles Championships has been set up to give doubles polers the chance to shine in their own dedicated competition. Though still a relatively new discipline doubles pole is getting bigger with more people taking it up all the time and with the UKPDC we want to show people just what doubles pole is all about and encourage more people to give it a go. To really stand out from other competitions which may include a doubles category for UKPDC we are splitting doubles competitors so that the amateur teams do not have to worry about competing against professional teams. We are introducing 3 separate categories for this event:
- Professional
- Pro/Am
- Amateur
This means that no matter how your doubles team is made up there is still a category for you. We hope that this will allow as many teams to join in as possible without feeling that they are not experienced enough to take part in a national competition. About the Organisers-
The UKPDC is being run by doubles act Kristina and Heather Walker. Kristina and Heather are sisters originally from the West Midlands who each started training and competing in pole separately. In 2013 they decided that they would have a go at training for a doubles pole competition and after only 2 months they took 2nd place in the Miss Pole Dance 2013 Pro Doubles competition. They have since gone on to take part in other doubles competitions culminating in a 4th place finish in the IPSF World Pole Sport Championships. In all of their own training and competing they draw on their backgrounds in various dance styles and acrobatic gymnastics to create routines that are fun, entertaining and unique while at the same time making use of their individual strengths. It is from this background that they have created the UK Pole Doubles Championships and they hope that you will join them in this endeavour to take doubles pole to centre stage where they believe that it truly deserves to be.
