CWO Groombridge has recently completed his BTEC Level 2 in Teamwork and personal development.
One of the activities we have for older ATC cadets and combines the activities they do with written work.
Also Cpl Hatcher who has also completed his BTEC.
Congratulations to you both.
On the back of this we have a lot more cadets who want to do it.
Thank you to Charlotte and Hannah for getting them through it!

🌺 The Remembrance period begins.

As we enter this period of reflection, we remember all those who have served, those who made the ultimate sacrifice and all those whose lives have been changed by conflict.

For the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, Remembrance is an opportunity to honour their service and sacrifice, to learn from their stories, and to ensure their legacy lives on in future generations.

Across the country, our cadets and volunteers will join their communities in paying tribute to the fallen. By standing alongside veterans, serving personnel and members of the public, they help keep the act of Remembrance alive.

We will remember them.

Our cadets learn basic blue essential first aid and can progress through to bronze youth first aid. Then into more in depth silver and Gold where they can become instructors.

National Cadets Week - Day 4: Cadets Saving Lives

Across Kent Wing, our cadets are developing skills that could one day help them make a real difference in an emergency.

First aid training gives cadets the opportunity to learn how to assess situations, provide immediate assistance and respond calmly when someone is injured or unwell. From basic first aid through to more advanced training, these are skills that can stay with them for life.

For our cadets, learning first aid is about more than gaining a badge or qualification. It's about being prepared to step forward, take action and help someone when they need it most.

You never know when a skill learned on a cadet course could become the most important skill you've ever used

National Cadets Week - Day 2: Cadets in the Community

Across Kent Wing, our cadets aren't just learning skills for themselves. They're using those skills to make a difference in the communities they call home. From supporting local events, civic occasions and remembrance activities, to volunteering, fundraising and working alongside community organisations, our cadets are getting involved and giving something back.

Every squadron has its own place in its local community, giving young people the opportunity to meet new people, take on responsibility, build confidence and see the impact they can make. Because being an Air Cadet isn't just about what you can achieve, it's also about what you can give back.

Today will be sharing posts from squadrons around the wing showcasing how they help out their local communities

On Saturday, we took part in a sponsored event to roll out fire engine hoses from end to end, connecting and disconnecting three separate hoses!
The rollout represented approximately 1.6 miles of the runway - definitely not for the feint hearted.
Two teams relayed to see who could do it the fastest!

Our Friends at the RAF Manston History Museum (RAFMHM) provided the venue, the appliance, hoses and volunteers who supported and assisted cadets.
We have close ties with the RAF MHM. Which we are very grateful. The cadets use it for their Duke of Edinburgh's award volunteering. Where it gives them experience of archiving aviation history, customer relations and some retail.

The cadets were also supported by staff and the Civilian Welfare Committee!

So far a whopping ÂŁ600 has been raised. If you would like to contribute to the Squadron 's collection, please use the previous poster QR code or contact us on [email protected]

Flt Lt Tatlow, Officer Commanding of the Squadron said we are very grateful to all the sponsors and those who helped to organise this event.
