GM.Digital is recruiting participants who identify as Jamaican or have Jamaican heritage to take part in two in-person 2-hour research workshops either online or at the University of Manchester.

We are working with the University Hospital of the West Indies and the University Hospital of the West Indies in Jamaica to develop this questionnaire. This is part of the DATAMIND project, funded by the Medical Research Council.

Last Thursday, Tom and Mia from the GM.Digital team were invited to the third working group of the CYP PPIE National Collaborative at St Hilda’s College, University of Oxford.

The event brought together young people, researchers, PPIE professionals and national organisations for a day of shared learning, discussion, and priority setting.

It was great to share our learnings from our research with young people on EN-CAMHS, as well as our ongoing work with Youth Connection, a research advisory group for young people interested in mental health research.

It was also valuable to hear about others’ work with young people, discuss the potential impact of the forthcoming social media ban on PPIE, and explore how we can create meaningful, transparent, and sustainable opportunities for young people to be involved in research moving forward.

It was a great event, and we’re really excited to see where this collaboration goes!

A little support can go a long way 🤝

Aisha is one of GM.Digital’s volunteer digital navigators, which means she supports service users at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust to build their digital skills, access online resources, and feel more confident using technology.

Volunteer digital navigators can help people access courses offered by GMMH’s Recovery Academy using the online booking system and the website.
