Did you know that it's UN International Youth Day today? With this year's theme of 'Different Contexts, Different Aspirations', we asked young people what their aspirations for the next five years were - individually and more widely.

Responses ranged from owning a sausage dog or driving a steam train to moving to Wales or getting to university and qualifying as an accountant. More widely, people wanted a stop to antisocial behaviour, an end to wars, and prosperity and genuine rights for all.

What are the aspirations of the young people you know? Why not have a conversation with them to find out!

Stone painting was requested at Clarence Park today, so we happily obliged, along with a game of football and a conversation about democracy! Thank you to friends at Bury Live Well Service and Early Break UK for your support! We're next at Openshaw Park on Friday; 1pm to 3pm.

In today’s ‘Games in park session’ Young people joined in collaborative team challenges, explored the beauty of nature, and enjoyed creative activities & board games.
It’s always fantastic to see friendships begin to develop, confidence build and everyone supporting one another and enjoying each others company.
Thank you to all joining in - it’s always great to see you all, having plenty of fun and laughter out in your local community, in the fresh air!

The rain definitely didn’t dampen our spirits at Hoyles Park today! Our energy was enough to chase the clouds away!
It was great catching up with familiar faces, welcoming some new ones, and even meeting a very unexpected (and very hairy!) visitor… 🐛😂
We took on fun challenges that put our communication, teamwork, memory and accuracy to the test, and got creative by designing some awesome decorated rocks. 🪨🎨
Rain or shine, we’ll always find a way to have fun!

Here are the locations for this weeks Games in the park sessions from Bury Youth Service. If you are 11-19 yr old (up to 25 SEN) and want to join us, there’s no cost, just turn up. Look out for the Bury Youth Service flag. It would be great to hang out with you all.

A huge congratulations to this group of young people who completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition with us this week. They had 3 days and 2 nights walking through the amazing scenery of the Yorkshire Dales. They ended (still smiling) with a much deserved celebratory ice lolly at the finish. They should be really proud of themselves as much as we are here at Bury Youth Service.

We had youth workers doing some detached work in Burrs today to talk to young people about water safety. They were treated with a kingfisher happy to pose for a photo.
