In some of our drop-in sessions in schools this term, we’ve explored a range of health-related topics — from making balanced food choices to understanding the importance of positive relationships, wellbeing & self care and health & hygiene. This weeks highlight? Young people getting hands-on by creating their own delicious and healthy fruit kebabs 🍓🍇

These sessions have been all about giving young people a voice, building confidence, and making healthy living fun and accessible. We’re proud of their creativity, honesty, and enthusiasm — and we’re excited to keep the conversations going next term!

Healthy Lifestyles at our Lunch Drop In

This week during our school lunch drop-in, we focused on the importance of self-care and hygiene as part of our Healthy Lifestyles sessions. It was great to see so many young people getting involved and learning simple ways to look after their bodies & wellbeing.

Everyone who took part received a goodie bag filled with helpful self-care items. A huge thank you to Asda Community Champions for kindly donating some of the products and supporting our young people. 🙌

Today we celebrate the incredible Young Carers supported by Bury Youth Service 💙

For Young Carers Action Day 2026, we’re recognising the dedication, strength and compassion shown by young people who help care for family members every day.

This year’s theme is “Fair Futures” – because every young carer deserves the same opportunities to learn, grow and thrive.

Young carers do so much behind the scenes, and today is about raising awareness, celebrating their achievements, and making sure their voices are heard.

With the amazing support from our charity, Friends of Young Carers, to mark this year’s action day and to further support our young carers in expressing lived experiences and share their voice more publicly, we are currently working on an exciting creative project alongside so watch this space to find out more!

We are so proud of every young carer we support across Bury 🌟
