LNER Coach Association Welcome to the LNER Coach Association page, we are a registered charity restoring beautiful coaches

The LNER Coach Association was formed in 1980 to obtain, restore and operate coaches from LNER and its constituent companies. It also looks after LNER and constituent companies' coaching stock privately owned by members. When fully restored, LNERCA and associated coaches are available for use or display on heritage railways including the North Yorkshire Moors, the Stainmore and the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railways.

Congratulations to Bungle and Zeta, two much-loved members of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway team, who tied the knot today!

To help mark the occasion, the happy couple asked to celebrate their big day aboard our set of historic teak carriages, running today courtesy of the LNER Coach Association. It's not every day our carriages get to play a part in someone's wedding, and we couldn't think of a more fitting way for two NYMR colleagues to start married life than travelling through the moors between Grosmont and Pickering in real 1930s style.

Wishing Bungle and Zeta many years of happiness together. Congratulations from all of us at the LNER CA!

Today at the Stainmore Railway Company LNERCA and Gresley Society members were invited as guests to ride on the two operational Gresley carriages as part of Gresley 150 centenary.
Some photos of BTK 3669 and SRC owned TTO 60505. Trains diesel hauled
today due to fire risk.
Gary Robinson trialled the LNERCA interactive display showcasing the fund raising appeal for TK 23896.

Today at Kirkby Stephen the Stainmore Railway Company and LNERCA signed the cooperation agreement for the completion and operation of North Eastern Railway open third 945. The agreement also includes 3669.

The carriage is due to move from Ramparts to Kirkby Stephen this week

The rebuilt corner has now been re-panelled and new moulding fitting.
Exterior varnishing now underway with 3 coats in the sides so far.

GNR Semi Open Brake Third of 1907 has been kindly donated to the LNER Coach Association by the Stainmore Railway Company.
This interesting carriage has been sheeted over and will soon be moving into storage at Kirby Misperton as a back haul after NER Open Third 945 is delivered to Kirkby Stephen.

Continued progress on Gresley TTO 43654 at Kirby Misperton.
The corner frame rebuild is largely complete, external beading completed.
Internally the new wiring runs are in place and panelling of the ceiling and walls complete.
