Come along to Maesteg RFC on Saturday afternoon on 31st October to help judge our homemade Welsh Cake Competition as part of our Welshcake festival.
Free hot drinks to accompany the sampling of the entries.
If you wish to enter the competition to find the most delicious Welsh cakes that have ever been made, entry forms with further details are available from Enid-Sian Hughes by emailing her at [email protected] and must be returned by 1st October.
The Welshcakes can be any flavour, shape or size, with the best in show being crowned as the Maesteg Bicentenary Welshcake Champion 2026.
The judging categories will be:
1. Traditional Welshcakes
2. Sweet Welshcakes
3. Savoury Welshcakes
4. Original Design/ Shape Welshcakes (not round)
5. Charity Design Welshcakes using their Logo or celebrate what they do (any flavour or shape)
Come on you cooks, join in our celebrations of Maesteg's 200th birthday and show us how talented you are!
