Maesteg 200 is a group of Maesteg residents and local businesses whose key aim is to raise funds and organise a series of events for the celebration of Maesteg being a town for 200 years in 2026.

What a great time was had by all who attended our Hallowe'en party on Saturday at Maesteg RFC.
Thank you to everyone who not only came along but for the amazing costumes that you wore. This meant it was a very difficult task for our judges to find the winner of the best Mask and best costume who were presented with a cash prize by our Mayor, Cllr. Paul Davies. All participants in the fancy dress competition received a Maesteg 200 medal.

Many thanks to everyone who entered our Welsh cake competition on Saturday. We had, overall, more than 20 entries in the five categories and over 80 judges from the general public who came along to Maesteg RFC to vote for their favourite in each category after having tasted many of them.
The winner of the traditional Welshcake was Wendy Jones, with Alex Williams as the runner up.
Wendy Jones was also the winner of the Sweet Welshcake category with Carys Toomey as the runner up
The savoury Welshcake category was won by Ruth Jenkins with Sharon Dixon as the runner up
The original design/shape category was won by Carys Toomey with Leida Davies as runner up.
The Charity /Group category was won by Caerau Men Shed with Maesteg 200 as runner up.

The Maesteg Welshcake Champion was Wendy Jones, who closely beat Carys Toomey into second place.

Many thanks to everyone who came along on Saturday afternoon to our Welshcake festival and to the members of community singing group Llantastic for the entertainment, and our Mayor, Cllr. Paul Davies for presenting the medals.
