Lytham In Bloom

Lytham In Bloom Lytham in Bloom Trust was formed in 1998 by a small group of interested local residents who wanted to help make Lytham a better place in which to live.

Over the years it has become a respected advocate for the town of Lytham working alongside Fylde Borough Council, generating revenue through local fundraising, sponsorship, donations and grants. These funds are used to undertake projects, purchase plants, trees, benches and support other local initiatives.

Thank you to all our fabulous volunteers!

Our group were spread around Lytham today after last week’s mammoth sessions in the square and memorial gardens. Thankfully the Sahara type conditions stayed away today as did the rain which allowed us to do some tidying and planting.
The Triangle was replanted and the bulbs removed and the ground tidied from Saltcotes roundabout by two of our teams whilst others did some prep to get our stunner of a windmill ready for planting next week.
It’s always a busy life for Lytham in Bloomers 🌹🌹🌹

Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?
Well, if you think it is growing well, then please enter our Gardening Competition. Open to all Lytham residents and there are numerous categories you can enter.
You can either scan the QR code to access the entry form or use this link https://form.jotform.com/260862575605059
Entries open on 1st June and close on 3rd July so you have time for those blooms to grow. Maximum of 3 photos per entry but you can enter as many times as you like but for different categories.
We look forward to seeing your lovely spaces.

It was hot hot hot in the Memorial Gardens today. Lytham in Bloom volunteers almost melted in the heat but we persevered and planted the beds up for summer. It was hard work but we had fun too.
Thanks to Phil's Bakery for the very welcome drinks.
Tomorrow we will be in the Square planting the tubs up.
Pop by and say hello. We’re always happy to welcome volunteers - no experience required. You’d be welcome to join us or even pop a plant in - you can watch it grow and feel proud.
It’s going to be another hot day. 😎😎

You might have noticed a bit of a change in the square and the memorial gardens. We are getting the ground and the planters prepped in readiness for the summer planting.
We worked with FBC this morning to take up the millions of bulbs. We will be sharing some of these with local schools and keeping some for next year.
It might look a little bare now but we will be full steam ahead with the planting next Tuesday & Wednesday. Please do come and say hi. It really does lift our spirits.
Here’s some of the FBC guys with some of our volunteers making a mess, I mean prepping the ground 🤣

Our lovely volunteers were in the square emptying the planters for the summer bedding yesterday. We also welcomed Sally a new volunteer.

We were fortunate to avoid the rain and got all the planters emptied. Bulbs will be recycled in the autumn.

Look out for us next week when we are planting up in the memorial gardens and planters in the square.
In the next few weeks we hope to have Lytham looking blooming lovely.
