Slow Food UK Awards - Voting now LIVE!

It’s time to shine a spotlight on the small producer, get your votes in now!

Ludlow and the Marches are JAM PACKED with incredible Slow Food producers & makers and we have been so lucky in previous years to nab some incredible UK wide awards. So this is where YOU the suporters and customers need to get your voted in!

2026 is the ninth year of the Slow Food in the UK Awards!

A couple of years back they changed things significantly, by creating completely new categories: the overall best Retailer, Producer, Cook, New Business (under two years old), Food Product, Drink Product and Environment Awards.

You, and the producers and retailers across the land, were excited by these changes, so they’ve kept them again this year!

Each of the Slow Food Nations - England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales - have their own winners. Whoever gets the most votes overall in each category, wins the overall UK Award.

You only get to vote once, and there’s a thank you for voting. Enter into our prize draw and you can win a hamper of Slow Food goodies (worth £150), which will be delivered in time for Christmas.

Voting ends 30th November, with the winners announced on 10th December at 10.12 am

🌟 Event Announcement 🌟

🐌 🌲Slow Food Christmas Fiesta 🌲🐌

🏰 📍 Ludlow Castle

Join us for some seasonal joy at this year’s Slow Food Christmas Fiesta, hosted this year by Ludlow Castle!

Come find us in the Beacon Rooms and the Castle Gardens for some magical winter festive food and drink!

We have special guests including Kate Humble and Clare Thomson, and many more soon to be announced!

There will be food and drink artisan makers stalls, live cooking with Kadai Fire chefs and hot street food and licenced bars as well as a programme of free talks with a Christmas flair.

All visitors on the day will have an opportunity to be entered into the Slow Food Christmas Hamper draw!

is a free event and entry is by the Beacon Rooms door, just right of the main entrance of Ludlow Castle.

🐕 We apologise, but we cannot allow dogs, even well behaved ones into the event!

2 evenings packed with amazing slow food produce, focused heavily on the use of surplus ingredients sourced from Shrewsbury Food Hub and truly celebrating provenance, locality and in Steve’s own words ‘ food in mouths and smiles on faces’

Slow Food Education Workshops!

Day 1 of the festival has officially begun and it’s always a joy on the Friday of the fearival to welcome schools from around Ludlow to learn more about the Slow Food ethos through interactive workshops and demos and actively promote good, fair food to the younger generations!

We are just a day away to Ludlow Food Festival 2026!

Ludlow Castle is abuzz with producers arriving, the final marquees being set up, and the final touches are being made to the site ready to welcome our amazing visitors tomorrow!

So what’s happening in our Slow Food Area at the festival?

With talks, guest speakers, tastings, interactive workshops, producers, talks, a fully stocked Slow Food Bar, seating, and much more we can’t wait for the gates to open tomorrow and celebrate all things Slow Food this weekend at Ludlow Food Festival!

Want to more about Slow Food and where To find us? Simply head on into the castle and turn right! It’s as easy as that!!
