What a week! ⚜️🏕️

We had a brilliant week of Explorer camp in Pembrokeshire, with plenty packed in!

🏖️ We had a beach day, with swimming, games and, naturally, plenty of burying each other in the sand!

🌊 We took on coasteering, scrambling, swimming and jumping our way around the Pembrokeshire coastline. It was brilliant to see everyone pushing themselves, taking on the challenge and building up to some amazing jumps – definitely an experience to remember!

🏝️ We caught the boat over to Caldey Island, where we enjoyed the slightly more peaceful surroundings, explored the island and learnt a bit about the monks who live and work there. We also made sure to sample some of the island’s famous chocolate and fudge… purely for educational purposes, obviously! 🍫😂

🍕 Back at camp, we fired up the pizza oven, with everyone making their own pizzas (including some fairly creative topping choices!), alongside plenty of games, cooking, exploring and the general chaos that comes with taking a group of Explorers away for the week! 😂

A massive thank you to the Lodge of the Marches No. 611 for their very generous donation towards our camp. Their support meant we were able to take everyone coasteering and visit Caldey Island, giving our Explorers two brilliant experiences that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to include. ❤️

A fantastic week away with a great group of Explorers, plenty of laughs and lots of memories made! ⚜️

We had a brilliant weekend on District Explorer Camp! ⛺🚣

This year’s camp was all about building boats, and our Explorers certainly rose to the challenge! After designing and constructing their own boats, it was time to put them to the test on the water. We’re pleased to report that every single boat floated… at least for a little while! 😄

It was fantastic to see everyone working together, solving problems, getting creative and giving it their all. There were plenty of laughs, lots of teamwork and a few soggy endings along the way!

A huge well done to all of our Explorers for a fantastic weekend. ⚜️💚

What a weekend! 🎲

Our 8 Explorers had an incredible time taking on the Monopoly Run in London, representing Ludlow brilliantly from start to finish 👏

From navigating around London independently, clocking up miles on foot, train and bus, to visiting iconic landmarks (including HMS Belfast 🚢), the team showed fantastic teamwork, resilience and independence throughout.

They threw themselves into the challenge, supported each other and made the most of every moment - we’re really proud of them and how they represented the group.

A brilliant weekend all round! 🙌

We’ve been busy completing our Stage 4 Emergency Aid training over the last few weeks 💪

On Sunday, our Explorers gathered at the top of Mortimer Forest for a quiet moment of reflection. Together we paused for two minutes’ silence to remember those who gave so much. A simple, respectful act in a beautiful place.

🌊 Kayaking Adventures in Shrewsbury! 🚣‍♂️

Our Explorers had a brilliant morning on the water yesterday, paddling around, playing games and getting (just a little bit) soggy. Teamwork, plenty of laughs and some impressive skills on show too.

Thanks to everyone who came along and got stuck in! Definitely one to do again! 💪

🌿🛠️ Explorer Evenings 🔥

Over the past couple of weeks, our Explorers have been busy!
➡️ One night was all about hut maintenance — cutting back hedges and taking down the old BBQ.
➡️ Another night was spent out the back, enjoying time around the fire.

Hard work and good times — both part of the Explorer experience!

🌌 Last night, our Explorers got dropped off blindfolded with a map + compass and had to find their way back.
Quote of the night: “It would have been easier in the light.” 😂
Lessons learnt ✔️ Maps matter ✔️ Compasses are your best friend
