Day one of EATM’s ‘Festival of Transport’ is over - thanks to our team of volunteers for helping to make it a success. We are so proud of our fleet of trolleybuses, particularly when we see views like this of 260, and for the ‘unusual depot workings’ enthusiasts amongst you, NESA 5 is spending two nights in the running shed. 5 will be out again tomorrow from 14:00 until 16:00.

Another busy weekend in the Trolleybus Workshop today.

Progress on Newcastle 628 included:

Battery box constructed and fitted, more panel work on the stairs, hand rail cleaned and reinstated in the upper saloon.

Then into some trail fits of the previous wooden trim pieces to see what adjustments may be required.

Thanks to the team involved for your help with the project so far.

Further work on 628 prepping the battery box and recently fitted panels for paint.

A coat of bitumen paint for the battery box and special metals primer for the panelling and they are ready for the inevitable paint job.

Also a coat of primer for the recently replaced panel on Hastings 34.

Keep an eye out for future updates 🚎

Ninety years ago today, on 23rd August 1936, 260 entered service. It is seen here at Carlton Colville this morning on its first trip of the day. Thank you to everyone who keeps this, and our other trolleybuses, under the wires.
