Leicestershire Launches Free Wheelchair Tennis Festival to Mark 50 Years of the Sport
Leicester, UK β Tennis Leicestershire is launching a free Wheelchair Tennis Taster Session and Festival this summer for adults and children with physical impairments, marking 50 years of wheelchair tennis and opening the sport to more people across the county.
Delivered in partnership with the LTA, We Do Tennis, Leicestershire Tennis and Squash Club, and the Make Change inclusive sports program, the event celebrates a major milestone for a sport now played in more than 100 countries and featured at the Paralympic Games and all four Grand Slam tournaments.
The free festival will take place at Leicestershire Tennis and Squash Club and is open to anyone with a physical impairment who wants to try wheelchair tennis for the first time or return to the sport.

Time: 2:00pm β 4:00pm
Venue: Leicestershire Tennis and Squash Club, 4 Westernhay Road, Leicester, LE2 3HF
All equipment, including sports wheelchairs and tennis rackets, will be provided free of charge. Information about follow-on coaching opportunities in the county will also be available for anyone who wants to continue playing.
The festival reflects a wider commitment to making tennis more accessible and creating more opportunities for disabled people to enjoy the benefits of sport.
