Another fantastic day yesterday for the GB Team at the European Deaf Swimming Championships! 🇬🇧

Day 5 brought more medals, personal bests and brilliant performances in the pool. Highlights included Jack taking gold in the 1500m Freestyle and bronze in the 100m Butterfly, alongside a bronze for the 4x200m Freestyle relay team.

Well done to all the swimmers!

A special well done to Bethany on breaking a GB Deaf Record in the 50m Freestyle. Brilliant to see the team securing places in more finals and semi-finals.

We’re delighted to announce that we will be taking a GB Team to the 2027 Winter Deaflympics in Innsbruck, Austria.

UK Deaf Sport CEO Chris Ratcliffe shares the news that a DeaflympicsGB Team will be competing at the Games, including a deaf snow sport athlete entering the skiing competition for the first time in over 20 years.

Vote for the Nominees in all categories for the DSPY Awards and celebrate the outstanding achievements in deaf sport.

Voting closes Thursday 19th November 2026 at 23.59pm.

Our fun and motivational Destination Deaflympics activities brought students together across two linked mainstream Deaf Resource Bases at Manor and Cove schools, connecting primary and secondary students who hadn’t previously known each other.

Teachers of the Deaf and Deaf Instructors found the programme quick and easy to implement, helping students build friendships, develop confidence and create their own deaf community within a mainstream school. It also gave quieter primary students opportunities to develop leadership skills and inspired young people to think about their own sporting ambitions.
