This gorgeous double tulip (Tulipa) is putting on quite a show in the sunshine, with its ruffled, almost silky petals opening wide like a poppy.

These peony-flowered tulips always bring a bit of drama to the garden — bold, bright and impossible to ignore. They really come into their own on warm spring days when the flowers open fully and catch the light beautifully.

A lovely reminder to take a closer look… sometimes things aren’t quite what they seem 🌿

Soft, elegant and quietly stealing the show 🤍🌿🌼🤍🌿
Narcissus ‘Thalia’ is one of those daffodils that never shouts, but always gets noticed.

Pure white petals, a gently ruffled trumpet, and often more than one flower per stem — giving a delicate, almost floating look in the spring garden. On still days, there’s even a light, sweet fragrance. 🤍🌿🌼🤍🌿
A more serene presence amongst the brighter yellows — a softer, timeless side of spring 🤍

“Along Life’s Path”

The little cat had been here many times before, wondering what lay ahead and wondering if he had the strength to keep going. Fears and worries, failures and the past would often stop him from taking the next step—although his heart longed to find out what lay around the corner and beyond.

He sat quietly, closed his eyes and soaked in everything around him. He heard the sweet shrill of the songbird yonder, the whispers of the wind swirling through the trees, and he breathed in the sweet aroma of lavender and pink rose.

Then it dawned on him. All of nature didn’t seem to have a care about tomorrow. And, since the same hand that painted the spring skies a cornflower blue and the tulips a crimson hue had also made him too, he shouldn’t be worrying either, for he was also part of the creators' majestic plan. The little cat knew there might be a muddy puddle to jump over or a rocky hill to climb, but he suddenly felt brave enough to take the next step. And, so he did.

With his head held high and his tail in the air, he smiled as he trotted down the path. He knew Spring was painted in his heart, the hope of Spring would hold his hand along life’s path, and no matter what lay ahead, he was confident that Spring would follow him around that corner and forever beyond.

Cowslips 🌼 (cowslip) are a lovely little sign of spring — once common in our meadows, now a special find.

Softly scented, loved by bees, and even said to be fairy flowers… a tiny piece of countryside magic 🌿

🌸💜🌸💜🌸💜🌸💜🌸💜🌸💜 A little gem in the shade… Lungwort (Pulmonaria) 🌸

This lovely plant quietly steals the show at this time of year, with its mix of pink, purple and blue flowers all on one plant — like it can’t quite decide what to wear!

But did you know it’s actually a very old-fashioned plant with a bit of history behind it?

Years ago, people believed in something called the “Doctrine of Signatures” — the idea that plants gave clues about what they could be used for. Lungwort’s spotted leaves were thought to look like lungs, so it was used in remedies for coughs and chest complaints.

Whether it worked or not is another story… but it’s certainly earned its place in our gardens today!

🌿 Loves a shady spot
🐝 Brilliant early food for bees
🌸 Flowers change from pink to blue as they age

If you’ve got a clump, now’s the time it really shines — and it bulks up beautifully year after year.

Have you got this in your garden? Or spotted it out on your walks?
