Special shout out to our Patron George the Poet for his poignant headline performance, our live band Solray Rock 🖤🎷 Cedar Wilson who blessed our event with their incredible talent 🎹🎸🎷🪉and Jasmine Shelukindo who hosted the event with an infectious energy 🥳

Any poet who buys a ticket and would like to perform at this event should arrive at the venue between 5.30pm-6pm to sign up on the open mic. There are limited performance slots available and you have a maximum of 5 mins to perform.

Open micers will be accompanied by our live band

1 week left to sign up to our Page to Stage programme with ✨

Page to Stage is a year-long poetry programme led by Poetic Unity in collaboration with Southbank Centre for 13–17 year olds looking to explore their creativity, find their voice and discover the power of poetry 🗣️

Delivered fortnightly , participants will learn the fundamentals of poetry, develop their own writing style and voice, build confidence in performing and public speaking, and connect with a community of young writers 🖤

Throughout the programme, there will be opportunities to perform and showcase original work, culminating in a final live performance celebrating everything participants have created and achieved 🙌

No previous poetry experience is needed - Come as you are, bring your ideas and discover what you can create through poetry 🎯

Applications close 6pm today ‼️

The Cultural Leaders Programme is a youth employment and leadership programme designed to support Black young people to develop the skills, confidence and experience needed to build meaningful careers within the charity and cultural sectors. Between 2021-2024 we ran our first Cultural Leaders programme, which, in partnership with Black Cultural Archives and Theatre Peckham, employed 36 young people, with a 70% succession rate into further employment or education 🖤

We’re proud to re-launch the Cultural Leaders programme for a further three years, providing 15 Black young people 12-month, part-time employment placements with us here at Poetic Unity 🙌

If you’re passionate about racial justice, poetry, supporting young people, and keen to build a career in the creative, charity or cultural sector, this role is for you!
