- EDWARD ENNINFUL, the Ghanaian-British editor-in-chief of British Vogue, has been voted the UK’s most Influential Black Person by Powerlist. In its 18th edition, Powerlist, celebrates Black role models to young people in business, science, technology and the arts.
- The 51-year-old Enninful, who started his editorial career as fashion director of British youth culture magazine i-D aged 18, making him the youngest person to be named an editor at a major international fashion title, announced he was stepping down as editor of British Vogue in June 2024. He will become Vogue’s global creative and cultural adviser, as well as editorial adviser at British Vogue. He is also European Editorial Director of parent Conde Nast.
- Powelist says that Enninful was voted for "His vision and passion for fashion and diversity that has influenced the industry at a global level. Edward’s impact will be felt for generations to come and for that, I applaud him."
Other nominees on the 2024 Powelist Top 10 Influential Black Person list include Afua Kyei,Chief financial officer of Bank of England, Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol,Tunde Olanrewaju, Senior partner and managing partner, McKinsey, Syreeta Brown, Group chief people and communications officer, Virgin Money UK, Simon Woolley, Peer, co-founder of Operation Black Vote and principal, Homerton College, Cambridge University.
