Crofton Singers

Crofton Singers Crofton Singers is a friendly chamber choir based in Woodford. Rehearsals on Thursday evenings, Bancrofts School. Do you enjoy singing?

Directed by Christine Gwynn, the choir has a very wide and varied repertoire and sings at events and functions as well as giving concerts. The choir has a very wide and varied repertoire; from Bach to Bernstein, Tallis to Cole Porter, Rachmaninov to Vaughan Williams, eight-part Mediæval Latin Mass to the close harmony of the Barber Shop. We perform locally three or four times a year with occasional concerts further afield. We rehearse on Thursday evenings at Bancroft's School. New members of all ages are always welcome: there are no formal auditions – selection is by mutual agreement after a few rehearsals. If you're interested in singing with us, please e-mail us or talk to a member of the choir for more information. Do you need a choir for a wedding or other special occasion? Crofton Singers can offer a wide range of sacred and secular works and would be happy to discuss your requirements and choice of music. Please contact us for more information.

What a treat to sing at the beautiful Jacobean church of St Michael, Theydon Mount yesterday. We are very grateful to The Theydon Parishes for the opportunity to take part in this event in celebration of St Michael's and its links with nearby Elizabethan Hill Hall - and to sample the various delights of the churchyard fête :-) Thank you to Anne Padfield for the delightful and illuminating historical insights.

CONCERT TONIGHT POSTPONED
Unfortunately due to the icy conditions particularly in the surrounding area of the venue, Valentine's Mansion has closed and as a result our Christmas Cheer concert planned for this evening has been postponed. We are hoping to set a new date in January.
