π€ To celebrate Black History Month, we're featuring women who inspire our Stronger Together leaders π€
Today we remember Sybil Phoenix, a remarkable woman of the Windrush Generation who came to Britain from Guyana in 1956.
Despite facing racism and discrimination, Sybil dedicated her life to serving her community. She founded a youth club, fostered over 100 children, and created the Marsha Phoenix Memorial Trust to support vulnerable young women following the tragic loss of her foster daughter, Marsha.
In 1973, she became the first Black British woman to receive an MBE for her community work.
Thank you, Sybil, for reminding us how we can stay courageous and resilient despite life challenges. Your legacy shows us that when we stand together and lift each other up, we can truly be a force to be reckoned with. Together, we are stronger! πͺπΎπ€β¨
