Annandale Community Transport Services Welcome to Annandale Community Transport Services. We operate a community transport service in Annandale and Eskdale in South West Scotland.

Annandale Community Transport Services (formerly Annandale Transport Initiative) is a membership organisation serving the residents of Annandale and Eskdale. We provide accessible, affordable minibus hire for community groups and community car hire for individuals whose transport needs are not met by public transport. We can offer vehicles that are suitable for those travelling in wheelchairs. We

also run 2 registered bus services, one to Peebles on the last Thursday of each month, and one to Carlisle on the first and third Thursday of each month. A programme of day trips is also provided - these are reasonably priced and most return by 6pm. You can book on to these through our ACTS Travel club (annual membership of £5) Volunteer drivers are available for those members who do not have their own trained driver. Annandale Community Transport Services can deliver nationally recognised minibus driver training. ACTS is a charity and a company limited by guarantee.

🚚 ACTS is on the move! 🚚

We’re excited to announce that ACTS will be moving into Lockerbie Town Hall at the beginning of October!

From Monday 5th October, you’ll find us in our new office space, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our members and drivers.

Our phone numbers and email addresses will remain exactly the same, and we’re pleased to confirm that there will be no disruption to our services during the move.

Please continue to pop in and see us – we’d love to welcome you to our new home! 😊

☕🍰 Celebrating Our Wonderful Volunteers! 🍰☕

A huge thank you to our Board members and amazing volunteers who joined us for our Coffee & Cake celebration. It was a lovely opportunity to come together and recognise the fantastic work our volunteers do every single day. ❤️

We’d also like to send a special message to all the volunteers who couldn’t attend on the day — you were very much in our thoughts! 💙 We have certificates of thanks waiting for you in the office, so please pop in and collect yours when you can. 🏆👏

We’d like to start by recognising the tremendous contribution made by our volunteers since the beginning of the year.

👏 3,108 hours — that’s the incredible amount of time our volunteers have given since January.

🚗 During the first six months of the year, we have completed 245 hospital journeys to Dumfries.

🏥 We have also undertaken a further 61 out-of-region journeys, taking members to Glasgow, Edinburgh and destinations in England.

That gives us a fantastic total of 306 hospital and out-of-region journeys in just the first six months of the year — alongside school transport, trips, activities and all the other important work our volunteers support.

🌍 And then there are the miles…

Our vehicles have travelled an amazing 68,699 miles since January!

To put that into perspective, that’s approximately two and three-quarter times around the world! 🌎🚗

But behind every single one of those miles, every journey and every hour is a volunteer giving their time to help someone get where they need to be. That is something truly special, and we simply couldn’t do what we do without you.

💙 Thank you to every single one of our volunteers — whether you were able to join us for Coffee & Cake or not — for your time, dedication, kindness and commitment. You make such a difference to the people and communities we support.

And a very special thank you to Gretna Baker Boys for kindly donating a fabulous celebration cake, along with delicious chocolate and vanilla old school cakes for everyone to enjoy. 🎂🍫🍰 They certainly went down a treat with all our volunteers!

🚌 WE'RE RECRUITING BUS DRIVERS! 🚌

ACTS is exploring the launch of a new 7-day-a-week bus service linking Langholm, Gretna, Annan and Dumfries, and we're looking for experienced PSV bus drivers to join our team.

This exciting new route has the potential to improve transport links across our communities, and we'd love to hear from drivers who would like to be part of it from the very beginning.

🚍 We're Looking for Your Feedback! 🚍

Annandale Community Transport is exploring the possibility of introducing a new 7-day-a-week bus service connecting Langholm – Gretna – Annan – Dumfries, with stops serving our local hospitals.

Before we take this idea any further, we'd like to hear from you.

💬 Would you or someone you know use this service?
Whether it's for hospital appointments, visiting family or friends, work, shopping or connecting with other transport, your feedback will help us understand whether there is enough demand.

If there is sufficient interest, we would also be looking to recruit drivers to help operate the service, creating new employment opportunities within the local community.
