Hallo all!

We've had a couple of enquiries recently along the lines of "Is the Shed still running..."?

Yes! Absolutely!!

We run open sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays, between 2pm and 4pm.

There is no 'membership fee' as such though the Men make a £1 donation per session towards the costs of keeping the lights on etc

For insurance purposes, we only accept members over the age of eighteen. (Our average members age is somewhere north of retirement age)

No, you don't have to come to every session or stay for the full two hours. By all means, drop in for a cuppa and a chinwag, get out of the house for a bit then head home when you're ready.

Amazing the difference a couple of bright days make after what feels like neverending rain!

Men at Lockerbie Men's Shed have been getting back on the tools with both personal projects and jobs for other community groups, including a repair to the Book Shed at Applegarth School.

We've also been seeing more of the Men coming down to the Shed for a cuppa and a "chat with the lads". Just general chat, bit of gardening talk, car chat and whatever's in the news along with giving each other a bit of mutual support where needed.

The Shed is open every Wednesday and Friday afternoon, from 2pm til 4pm. There's no charge other than a recommended donation to the tea and coffee fund of a quid per meeting. (That's what keeps the lights on and pays for consumables)

If you're finding you've got a few more hours in the week than your comfortable with, drop in, say hullo and see what's going on

Holiday Opening Hours 2025/26

The Shed will be open on both Christmas Eve and New Years Eve but closed on the following Fridays (Boxing Day and 2nd January)

Back to normal from Wednesday 7th January

While it's a bit of a trek to our "local" Asda, bear this deal in mind if you are headed that way for your 'big shop'

ASDA have announced that their £1 Winter Warmer offer is back for the over 60s in their store-branded cafés from 1st November 2025 until the end of February 2026.

For just £1, eligible customers can get hot soup, a roll, unlimited hot drinks, and somewhere warm to sit and chat.

The DWP doesn’t operate from the Philippines, or Turkey or anywhere else. Yes I’ve had the same text before from a number based in Turkey. Same wording.
The DWP wouldn’t text you.
Don’t fall for scams.
Don’t click on links in dubious texts.
Block and delete.

Remember, if in doubt, check it out.

Members of The Shed and other Third Sector agencies locally can check and confirm if the 'too good to be true' or 'official' post you have recieved is pukka.
