💚 Thrilled to see our friends at the Mid Argyll Repair Café getting some well-deserved recognition!

It’s fantastic to see the impact the project is having locally — helping people repair and reuse everyday items, reduce waste and bring our community together at the same time. ♻️🔧

A brilliant example of what can be achieved with a relatively small amount of funding, lots of community spirit and some very generous people sharing their skills and time.

Huge congratulations to everyone involved! 👏💚♻️

A £5,000 grant to tackle waste and recycling challenges in Mid Argyll has succeeded in making a direct impact on more than 330 people over the year it has been in use.

🌟 Learning, Creating & Building New Skills! 🌟

Our youth work placement, Shanti, who has joined us through Mid Argyll Youth Development Services MAYDS, has been getting stuck into lots of different areas of life at the Food Share Hub , and this week we gave her a new creative challenge! 🎨💻

Shanti was tasked with designing a social media flyer for the Hub, and we’re delighted to share her finished design! 👏✨

Her placement is about much more than stock control and welcoming people through the door. Over the coming weeks, Shanti will have the opportunity to learn, try new things and gain hands-on experience in:

📦 Stock control & organisation
🗂️ Administration
📣 Marketing & social media
🌐 Web design
🤝 Customer service & communication
🛒 Procurement & ordering

It’s a chance to build confidence, develop practical and transferable workplace skills, explore different areas of work and discover where her own strengths and interests lie. 🌱

We’re delighted to have Shanti as part of the Hub and grateful to MAYDS for helping make the placement possible, giving a young person the opportunity to gain meaningful, real-world experience while contributing to their local community.

And judging by Shanti’s first flyer, she’s off to a fantastic start! 🙌

We’re very lucky to receive locally grown veg from Ardrishaig Community Garden, helping us add some brilliant fresh produce to what’s available at the Food Share Hub.

Grown locally, shared locally and enjoyed locally.
A huge thank you to Jamie and the Community Garden team for continuing to share their harvest with us — it’s very much appreciated. 🌱
