Unfortunately the non-native Asian Hornet has been discovered in North Wales. This species poses a real threat to our native pollinators. If you encounter a sighting please report it and be vigilant!

The wasp is a non-native species to the UK and poses a risk to honey bees.

A long overdue update on some of the fund raising events held at the allotment this year….

The annual Open Day was yet again a great success, thanks to all who attended and contributed. £216 was raised on the day with all proceeds going to a local charity. We would like to thank Snowdonia Nurseries & Garden Centre for another generous donation of seeds and to Bodnant Garden NT/YG Gardd Bodnant and Wild Horse Brewing Co for their support with raffle prizes.

A nice video from Charles Dowding on the benefits of using woodchip on paths

Older woodchips in small pieces, even conifer, are great for mulching because they feed the soil life more quickly, see my No Dig book https://shop.charlesdo...

If anyone would like manure for the garden, allotment please get in touch. We have 4 month old horse manure. Made up of straw and r**e seed straw. No wood in this manure, so excellent for the soil. You can bring bags or trailers, the pile is currently easily accessed as ground is great.
