Mirfield Rotary Club meets every Monday at 6.30 pm except for Bank Holidays at Healds Hall Hotel Liversedge. Visitors are welcome.

The Rotary Club of Mirfield has for several years created and managed both the Pocket Park situated by the canal/Lidl and also part of the area at the Co-op. After the dry summer we decided to totally revamp the Pocket Park creating new raised beds either side of the Rotary seat and to renew the top soil. The next stage will be to replant the garden with plants that are drought resistant. In addition we litter pick the areas on a regular basis. We hope people enjoy it.

The Rotary Club of Mirfield Funded and Donated a total of £17,500 in the last Rotary year. We couldn’t do this without the support of many of our members and the local community who contribute to our fundraising events. In addition, our members gave an estimated 920 hours service to our projects which equates to £18,000 of time. This is a great achievement for our Club and reflects out motto “Service Above Self”.

Our Annual Charity Car Rally approaches on Sunday 27 September 2026. Its starts at The Star Inn at Roberttown for breakfast. Entry fee is £25 including breakfast for two. The 1st July starts a new Rotary year for our Club in Mirfield. Our 2025-26 President Orlando Gubbini hands over his role to our new President for the coming year Mike Lister and Past President Sara Duffet hands over the Past president badge to Orlando.

On 17th March six local Rotary Clubs worked together to stage the annual Rotary Technology Tournament 2026. Hosted at the Upper Batley High School a number of competing secondary schools from Kirklees and Wakefield locations, in three ages groups were set a written task to design and construct a functional model to complete at set of tasks. The students undertook a challenge and the winners were: Foundation Group - Whitcliffe Mount School in Cleckheaton, Intermediate Group -Woodkirk Academy in Tingley, Advanced Group -Woodkirk Academy. The winners all received a trophy.

This was an excellent example of what can be achieved by the six Rotary Clubs working together. The six clubs were:
The Rotary Club of Birstall Luddites;
The Rotary Club of Cleckheaton;
Horbury and Ossett Phoenix Rotary;
The Rotary Club of Mirfield
The New Generation E-Rotary Club [online]; and
The Rotary Club of Ossett

Collectively these Rotary Clubs are known as the Inner Nine group of six Rotary Clubs.

The Rotary Club would be interested in any local business willing to sponsor the Rotary Technology Tournament 2027 which will be held in March next year.
