St Mary's Community Heritage Site The Friends of St Marys Community Heritage Site

The Friends of St Mary’s Community Heritage Site’ has been formed to help preserve and maintain the fabric and structure of this important asset for the wider Mirfield community. We aim to work closely with St Mary's Church and in conjunction with other organizations e.g English Heritage in the preservation of St Mary’s Church and it’s curtilage as an historical site; to promote a wider public interest. We have a Council of eight local residents and a membership that is open to anyone who has a connection with Mirfield or with St Mary’s church. Objectives: One of our first objectives is to clear the Castle Hill Motte of the self seeded vegetation, which is currently threatening the archeology of the site, as well raising funds for the rebuilding of the listed collapsed wall.
