LISKEARD SHOW AFTERSHOW

Unfortunately, Liskeard YFC will NOT be holding the Liskeard Show aftershow party this year. Due to low attendance and rising costs over recent years, we have made the difficult decision that it is not viable to hold for 2026.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported the after show party over the years and we hope this is something that we can bring back in the future.

We will have a YFC stand at the show on 11th July and will see you there. We hope you have a lovely show.

Yesterday evening we had a farm walk at the Cornish Maize Maze & Fun Farm joined by Callington YFC. A huge thank you to Ashley and Emily for showing us around and talking us through the various aspects of the business as well as showing us around the family farm.

Just ONE week left to enter the 2026 Liskeard Show!

The countdown is on and there’s now only one week left to get your entries in for this year’s show on Saturday 11th July.

Whether you’re entering cattle, sheep, horses, young handler classes, photography, flowers, vegetables, baking, preserves, handicrafts, art, or Country Home Craft competitions, we’d love to see you involved.

From seasoned exhibitors to first-time entries, the Liskeard Show is all about celebrating local talent, farming, creativity, and community spirit — and every class helps make the show what it is.

Royal Cornwall Show

The Cornwall YFC theme for this years RCS was ‘Movies’. We were given the Movie ‘Rocky’ (1976) for our club cubicle, with cookery entries by Poppy Sowden and Ben Mawby, handicraft by Pebble-Rose Dunn, Darcey and Becky Gill and the floral entry by Louise Dymond. Members also entered lots of other classes;

A few words from our member Isabella Rhodes this morning on what YFC has done for her 🤩

We are so lucky to have Issy as a part of the team. Not only has she got a wealth of knowledge within the farming industry, she’s a great member of the team and friend. Since joining us she’s been nothing but kind, supportive and excelled in everything she’s turned a hand to.

“This month marks 10 years of being part of Young Farmers, something that has given me so many opportunities, friendships and memories over the years. From going to a few club nights with some of my friends from the local riding stable, to YFC being a major part of life, the transferable skills I’ve learnt helping me into the industry I now work in today 🐮

Back in September, I joined Liskeard Young Farmers Club to be closer to home. I was really worried about moving clubs after being somewhere familiar for so long, but sometimes you have to take those steps, and I’m so happy I did. It has honestly been the most welcoming club.

At 23, it’s made me really excited for my senior years as an in-age member and everything still to come.

Since joining, I’ve taken part in my first entertainments competition, where we made it all the way to the National Finals in Wales. Most recently, last weekend, I had a successful day competing in stock judging at County Competitions Day , where the club had an incredible day and won overall.

What makes Liskeard so special is the team spirit. We all work together and support each other, not only within YFC but also outside of it with work and everyday life too, truly embodying what it means to be a member of YFC.

Feeling very grateful for the last decade in Young Farmers and very lucky to be part of such a brilliant club.”

We also had a Men’s, Ladies and Junior Tug of war team. This was many members first time at TOW and they gave it their all! A massive thank you to our coach Lisa Rowe for training us in the lead up to today.

We are immensely proud of our members. Today they not only showed the range of skills we have within the club, but showed their support to one another and other clubs around them. It really goes to show what YFC is all about!
