About the Women's Institute:

The Women’s Institute (WI) was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and to encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisation’s aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK. The WI will celebrate its centenary in 2015 and currently has over 210,000 members in around 6,600 WIs. The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

One last post before we go! 💚

This is our final post on this page, but don't worry, Witham St Hughs WI and our Farmers Markets aren't going anywhere!

We've moved to our new page, Witham St Hughs WI where you'll find all our latest news, upcoming Farmers Markets, vendor spotlights, WI gatherings and everything else we get up to.

This page will no longer be updated, so if you haven't already, please pop over to our new page and give us a follow.

And if you could share our new page with friends and neighbours, that would be a big help too. We don't want anyone missing out!

Thank you for following and supporting us here. We hope you'll join us over on our new page! 💛

Wait until you see what we have at the market!

WE’RE OPEN! 💛

The stalls are set up, the vendors are ready and the Witham St Hughs Farmers Market is officially open for business!

📍 The Square, Witham St Hughs
⏰ We’re here until 1pm TODAY

And before you grab your shopping bags, we have a little confession to make… 👀

🍪 Vendor Spotlight | The Cookie Crumble

Somehow our Cookie Crumble spotlight escaped into the Facebook wilderness and never actually posted. And frankly, cookies deserve better than that.

The Cookie Crumble are here TODAY with their delicious thick, chunky cookies, and if you’ve visited them at one of our previous markets, you’ll already know why they deserve their own mention.

So consider this their slightly late but very tasty spotlight. 🍪

Come down, have a wander, support our lovely local vendors and make sure you stop by the WI stall and say hello too. We’d love to see you!

Local finds & friendly faces, that’s what market day is all about. 💛

Come on by on Saturday and check out the market! Hope to see you there!

So… what are you doing tomorrow morning?

Because if the answer isn’t “popping down to the Witham St Hughs WI Farmers Market”, we might have a suggestion for you!

We’ll be there tomorrow with all our lovely vendors and plenty to browse.
📍 Witham St Hughs Market Square
⏰ 10:00–13:00
📅 Saturday 12 September

And it seems someone at the WI has been getting a little carried away with the autumn colours… 🍂

We’re not showing you what we’ve been up to just yet, but these colourful little clues might give you a hint. They’ll be making their first appearance on the WI stall tomorrow.

Think you know what they are? Wrong answers are also very welcome!

Come for a wander, say hello and see if you guessed correctly. And if you know someone who might fancy a trip to the market tomorrow, give this a share.

Fresh finds & friendly faces — that’s what market day is all about 💛

👢 Boots optional. Fun guaranteed.

This Wednesday we’re swapping our usual seats for the dance floor as the fantastic Claudio joins us for an evening of line dancing at Witham St Hughs Village Hall.

If you’ve never been to a WI meeting before, this is a great one to try. We’re a friendly bunch, and there’s no need to know anyone before you arrive.

Just bring yourself, a sense of humour, and be ready for an evening of laughter, friendship and maybe a few missed steps along the way!
