Amidst our prayers for the ongoing daily struggles faced by the people of Lebanon, please take a moment to pray for a very special little boy named Kamal.

Kamal is just 7years old and faces daily challenges that no child should have to carry alone. He lives with significant cognitive and developmental delays, struggles with epilepsy, and requires regular medication and specialised support .

Sadly , Kamal is growing up in an unstable environment and is experiencing neglect , a lack of emotional support, and limited access to the care and encouragement he so desperately needs.

We pray for his health and protection, for access to the medical, psychological and educational support he needs, and for a safe, loving and stable environment where he can flourish.

May Kamal know that he is loved, seen and valued, and may hope shine into his young life.

🌍SPAN Recently Donated to Forever Angels 🌍

It all began with the cry of babies.💛

While living in Tanzania, Amy heard the cry of babies in a hospital closet. She was told they were AIDS orphans, but what she really discovered was heartbreaking: they were starving, and simple milk could have saved them.

That moment led to the creation of Forever Angels, supporting orphaned and abandoned babies with emergency care, life-saving milk and support for families to care for children within their own homes.

✨Every child deserves love, nourishment and the chance of a future. 🌍✨

📎May 29 - A Day of Courage , Service & History🌍

Today we remember and reflect on three significant moments in history :

🕊️UN Peacekeepers Day - honouring the brave men & women who work to bring peace and protection to communities across the world.

🏔️1953 Conquest of Everest - when Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers confirmed to reach the summit of Mount Everest, inspiring generations to believe no challenge is too great.

📜Fall of the Ottoman Empire - marking the end of one of history’s most influential empires and a turning point that reshaped nations and cultures.

A day that reminds us of resilience, unity and human determination.

It’s also World Paperclip Day , who knew!,📎

LIFE on the DUMPS is HARD …KINDNESS CAN CHANGE A LIFE.

Following on from Mental Health Week and it’s message of Kindness & Action , SPAN recently donated to help families affected by a landslide at one of Manila’s rubbish dumps. Tragically, lives were lost, highlighting the daily dangers faced by people who survive by scavenging on these dumpsites. 💜

The photo below shows the harsh reality of life on the dumps.

The second photo shares Rosa’s story , and the Hope, Dignity and Change that Kindness & Action can bring. 💚

Rosa’s Story :
My name is Rosa, I used to work on the Payatas dump every day with my family everyday within the rotting rubbish and rats.
We would collect plastic and glass things , wash them in the stream nearby and dad would sell them on.
Now, because of my Sponsor I get help to go to school.
One day I hope to be a nurse and to move my family away from working on the Dump.💚

As Mental Health Awareness Week comes to it’s official end, may the message continue long beyond this week.💚

May we choose kindness in our words, support in our actions and understanding instead of judgement.

You never know how much a small act of kindness may mean to someone.

Together, May we create a world where people feel heard, valued, and supported, everyday.💚

🌍International Day of Living Together in Peace🕊️

Today, Saturday 16th May, marks International Day of Living together in Peace, a UN designated day, a reminder that despite our differences in culture, beliefs, background or nationality, we all share the same world.

At SPAN, we believe that compassion, friendship and community can help build bridges across nations and between people.

Small acts of kindness and respect can make a big difference 💚

As Oscar Auliq-Ice, a Ugandan born philanthropist and literary figure, writes in his poem Unity’

“Let not our differences tear us apart
But let our unity be the glue of our hearts
For in our diversity lies our strength
And together we shall go to great length”

May we continue to choose understanding over division, kindness over judgement, and unity over fear.🌍🕊️
