We are incredibly proud that Mae Murray Foundation was given such a magnificent platform at the European Academy of Childhood-Onset Disability (EACD) Annual Conference 2026, held this year in Galway, Ireland.
As one of the conference’s keynote panel speakers, Alix Crawford, our founder, spoke about how she established Mae Murray Foundation as a result of her own family’s lived experience and of her determination to create lasting change, so that future families do not have to experience the same exclusion and isolation.
Alix highlighted the positive change being delivered across Northern Ireland through the dedication, passion and commitment of the small but mighty team at Mae Murray Foundation.
We were especially proud that Talia, Alix’s daughter, also took to the stage, ensuring that the voices and experiences of young people remain at the heart of conversations about disability, inclusion and change. Her granny Mae would have been so proud!
To have Mae Murray Foundation represented at such an important international conference was a truly special moment and sincere thanks must go to the team at Queen’s University Belfast, who continually shine a light on our work.
