Organiser Kevin Haveron explained that the idea started this out of an interest in all forms of motoring and motorsports. "We decided that what Larne was missing was an arena for the people of Larne and the surrounding area to show off their pride and joy in the company of as many like-minded individuals as possible," he said. The first show was held in 2007 when more than 3,000 was raised with th
e proceeds for Roddensvale's trip to America. In 2008 the proceeds went to St John Ambulance and Larne Adult Centre, with just over 4,700 raised and around 350 cars eventually passing through the gates along with an untold number of spectators. "In 2009, after a lot of thought, we came to the decision that the Larne Adult Centre alongside the Oxygen Therapy Centre would benefit from the show," said Kevin. "Just short of 6,000 ended up being split between them and donated to both beneficiaries. "As for 2010, the beneficiaries were decided with a lot of thought and consideration and they were spiNI and the Larne Adult Centre. This year we raised a fantastic 7,000 which was greatly received by the two charities. 2010 would not have been the success it was without everyone's continued support, with over 500 cars attending and countless number of spectators through the gates. The car show team would like to thank every1 for there kind support over the last 4 years and hopes that 2011 is goin to be another successful year :D
