AEL- Access Employment Ltd Larne

AEL- Access Employment Ltd Larne Access Employment Limited (AEL) was established in 1999 and was the first Social Firm in Northern Ireland.

AEL provides support services, work experience and training to individuals with additional needs, learning disabilities, health conditions and social disadvantage, helping them to progress into employment or further education. We are Registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. AEL is a Social Firm providing disadvantaged people with training and employment opportunities, enhancing their

lifestyle, and thus allowing them to operate more effectively in the community. Our aim is to develop sustainable businesses in which we can provide disadvantaged people with the skills, experience and confidence to find employment within the open labour market. We also aim to create employment within our own businesses for those we are seeking to help. The human well-being resource aspect of the organisation lies at the heart of its existence and it provides a critical service for the people and communities of the Larne and surrounding area.

HOME AT THE HEART UPDATE

Over the past couple of months, we have been busy supporting clients with a wide range of activities, including learning how to prepare meals using air fryers and slow cookers, arranging hospital appointments, setting up cleaning schedules, and providing equipment to help maintain their homes. We have also assisted with shopping, accessing community activities, managing debt, and liaising with other services to ensure tenants receive the most appropriate support to meet their individual needs.
Here are a few snapshots of some of our clients who were happy to step in front of the camera!

Interested in receiving support?
To access the Home at the Heart programme, you must be a Housing Executive tenant living in the Larne, Carrickfergus, or Ballymena areas.

Loneliness Awareness Week (15th–19th June)

To mark Loneliness Awareness Week, we hosted a foil embossing workshop here at AEL. A huge thank you to Mid & East Antrim Loneliness Network for funding this session and helping us provide a welcoming space where people could come together, connect, and enjoy a creative activity.
We never truly know what someone else may be going through, so take a moment to check in with those around you. A simple conversation can make a big difference.

Yesterday we helped celebrate the one and only Angela's big birthday πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ

Deli extraordinaire she's known across the land for her sarnies, wraps and salads πŸ˜‹ and to help her relax after constructing all these delights, she loves nothing more than a wee cruise πŸ›³οΈπŸš’ several times a year.... and sure doesn't she deserve it 🀣

Hope you have a very Happy Birthday Angela xo
