Saturday morning well spent! First round of ten-pin bowling is well underway, and what an attendance we have—10 lanes full of participants!

It is absolutely fantastic to see such a high turnout, with the battalion coming together for a morning of fun and friendly competition. 🎳

A huge well done to 1st/2nd Dreghorn Boys' Brigade for raising a fantastic amount at their soup and sandwich event this afternoon!

The turnout was brilliant, with full tables and a great community atmosphere as everyone tucked into homemade soups and sandwiches.

Congratulations to all involved on a roaring success! 👏👏

Today we celebrate the 143rd Birthday of The Boys’ Brigade! ⚓️💙

Today is known as Founders’ Day. 143 years ago, the very first Boys’ Brigade company was formed. Since then, the movement has grown and evolved into the incredible organisation we know today.

Did you know? The Boys’ Brigade was the world’s first voluntary uniformed youth movement. Many of today’s youth organisations can trace their roots right back to our history.

Founded in Glasgow on 4th October 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith, The Boys’ Brigade expanded from a single Scottish company into a global movement—enriching the lives of millions of children and young people for over a century.

Company and Seniors Pool Competition🎱

Second competition of the session this morning, and this time it was for the Company Section and Seniors. Our pool competition took place at The Nonsuch in Saltcoats, which saw 5 companies take part across the Ayrshire battalions, including:

1st Irvine Boys' Brigade
1st/2nd Dreghorn Boys' Brigade
2nd Kilwinning Boys Brigade
4th Irvine Boys Brigade
1st Stewarton Boys’ Brigade

A massive thank you to The Nonsuch Lounge and Sports Bar for hosting us—their friendly staff made the boys feel very welcome, and their generosity even extended to buying some of the boys juice when their cards wouldn’t work. Fantastic service from start to finish!👏

A big thank you also to the staff, helpers, and parents who brought the boys along and made this event possible. And to our Pool Competition Conveners Shona and Lewis for organising👌🏅

Join 1st/2nd Dreghorn Boys' Brigade tomorrow lunchtime for their Soup & Sandwich Fundraiser! 🥣🥪

They will be serving right after the church service in the Dreghorn Church Halls.

Entry: £3 or a donation (if that doesn’t scream a bargain, I don’t know what does!). Everyone is welcome—come along for a warm bite and support the Brigade!

Not long now to our Soup and Sandwich Tea and Coffee Fundraising Event which will be held on Sunday 4th October at 12 noon in Dreghorn Church Hall, hope you all save the date and come along to have a warm lunch together while supporting the fundraiser for 1st/2nd Dreghorn Boys' Brigade 😁😁 North Ayrshire Battalion

🏃‍♂️💨 The 2026/27 BB session is well and truly underway! Our first competition of the session took place this morning with our Fun Run and Cross Country events. 🏆 The boys put their fitness to the test as they took on the course around Irvine Community Sports Club

We had a fantastic turnout, with brilliant attendance from across the battalion:

📍 It was fantastic to welcome companies from East and South Ayrshire alongside our local North Ayrshire companies. Every boy showed true competitiveness and sportsmanship from start to finish! 👏

🙌 A huge thank you to Irvine Community Sports Club for hosting us, as well as our event convener James for all the organising, and to Dylan and David for helping set up and man the course.

Finally, a big thank you to all the leaders, parents, and helpers who brought the boys along and supported the event! ❤️

A couple of our companies are running some fantastic fundraising events to help raise vital funds. We'd love your support!

🥣 1st/2nd Dreghorn – Soup & Sandwich Lunch

When: Sunday 4th October (after the church service) 12pm-2pm
Where: Dreghorn Church Halls
Cost: £3 per person (or a donation!) – absolute bargain!

🤠 1st Irvine – Country & Western Night

When: Saturday 24th October 6:30pm- late
Where: Marress Sports Club
Tickets: £15 per person
Highlights: Line dancing, live country music, and a mechanical bull!

🌟 SPECIAL APPRECIATION POST 🌟

A massive thank you to Coast to Coast Travel Ltd, Words really can’t express how grateful we are for everything you’ve done for us over the last few months. From the initial planning stage right through to the trip itself, you went above and beyond every step of the way.

A huge shoutout to Euan and Ben, our incredible drivers who got us to Alton Towers and back safely! You both went way beyond what was expected, and your friendly, down-to-earth nature made our trip even more special. We loved all the chats—even if we did manage to recruit you for our next adventure!

Thank you both so much again; you’re an absolute credit to Coast to Coast, and we can't wait for the next trip! 🚌💨

That’s a wrap on the first summer camp for 1st Irvine Boys’ Brigade and 1st Dundonald! ☀️⛺️

The boys had an incredible week away on their annual trip to Kirkham, filled with a week of non-stop fun, laughter, and excitement. It’s fantastic to see the camp numbers growing year after year.

Huge thanks to all the leaders and helpers who made it possible! And of course the boys for attending and getting stuck in to the camp roles, duties and activities, without you there wouldn’t be a camp😎.

Here’s to the next adventure. 🙌

Summer camp with 1st Dundonald Boys' Brigade is over for another year… hope the boys had as much fun as the officers did, we’ve all come home buzzing 😎
