One of our chosen charities this year is East Dunbartonshire Foodbank , and we’re proud to support the incredible work they do, providing essential food and support to people in our local community.

Today we visited their Kirkintilloch location, where we met the team and volunteers. It was great to hear more about the amazing work they do and how they do it—we heard many stories and learned how our donation will help. We also had the chance to visit the warehouse and see how everything comes together behind the scenes.

It's Volunteers Week, and, though there may be some bias, I am sure we have some of the best. They give about 500 hours of service a week combined. They come from all walks of life, different generations and different cultures. They make cups of tea, pack and sort food, provide a listening ear, enter data that helps keep track of things, represent us at supermarket collections and care deeply about their community and the injustice that exists resulting in food poverty.

Asda are having a Food Drive Friday 8 - Sunday 10 May. Our volunteers will be in store on Saturday 9 May in Asda and Asda (Bishopbriggs). Please help us with our shortages if you can.
