AJ - Well what can I say about last weekend

Our Young Leaders spent Saturday getting started on some training and planning an activity to run at their sections. They showed great concentration and real understanding of what it takes to be a young leader. After a very long day, they spent the night at the hall before getting up bright and early to head to Beveridge Park to support at the KPRF finish line for the second year.

These five Explorers (and their Beaver mascot) spent 5 hrs organising the finish area, making sure everything was safe, ensuring all the fun runners received water, sweeties and their medal before cheering the half marathon runners through the finish.

What an incredible job they did in really testing weather. A special mention to Jamie who went to meet the last runner to make sure they had support on the last leg through the finish.

BRAVO Explorers - you consistently demonstrate Scouting values and we could not be prouder โšœ๏ธ
We'll make King's Scouts out of you yet ๐Ÿ˜

Thank you to all our young people, leaders and adults who came along in the not-so 'lovely' weather last weekend to help with the water station at the KPRF half marathon. As the first stop in the race round town, the runners are always so appreciative of our support and encouragement โญ๏ธโšœ๏ธ

The first night back at Beavers last week saw the Colony welcoming three new Squirrels to join them in lots of fun games.

Beavers also split up into smaller groups to talk about the code of conduct for their meetings.

Bertie went home with Felix, Betsy with Lewis and Ethan was not sure about coming into a busy Beaver night but during the night, he had lots of fun and went home with the weekly trophy โšœ๏ธ

Cubs started back after the holidays last week with a night full of fun activities ranging from soap whittling, friendship bracelets and tomahawk throwing with and without blindfolds to a Japanese rock, paper, scissors game, Chinese whispers and a game of elevens.

Ella was awarded Cub of the Week for helping out a fellow Cub, particularly in the fire drill.

Squirrels started their first session of the new term with a Squirrely Squeak, finding out how everyone had spent their holidays, before starting on their Go Wild Badge.

Conker taught the Drey a new game called "Nut Dash", a relay where the nests raced to grab "acorns" and bring them back to their nest basket.
Acorn then gave the Squirrels some animal clues and they had to act out the animal they thought each clue related to.
They also took some time to draw either their own pets, a favourite animal or used their imaginations to create a new animal.

Brown Beaver also popped in to say hello and invest Peanut and Conker โšœ๏ธ
