💚💜 A FUNDRAISING STORY THAT COMES FROM THE HEART – IN MEMORY OF A FRIEND 💜💚
Today, we want to say a huge thank you to Jack Wood, who works in the cardiac theatres at Castle Hill Hospital, for doing something truly special in memory of a friend and colleague he has recently and heartbreakingly lost to su***de.
Following this devastating loss, Jack decided he wanted to do something positive in his friend’s memory, turning his grief into an act of kindness that will help support others.
Jack took the time to make all 230 chocolate balls himself and sell them to his colleagues at work. And what an incredible effort he made! He sold every single one in just TWO HOURS, raising an amazing £520! 💚
The money raised was split equally between Mysterious Minds and Andy’s Man Club, with £260 donated to each charity.
We would also like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Castle Hill Hospital who purchased the chocolate balls. Every purchase helped make this fundraiser such a success, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported Jack and contributed to this fantastic amount.
At Mysterious Minds, we understand how devastating su***de loss can be. Our charity was built from personal loss, and we support people affected by su***de across Hull and East Riding, including providing financial assistance towards funeral costs following a su***de and supporting bereaved families.
Sadly, su***de affects not only the person we lose but also the families, friends and colleagues left behind. When that loss is so recent, the pain can be especially difficult to navigate.
Jack’s decision to do something positive in memory of his friend is a beautiful reminder of how kindness can come from even the most heartbreaking circumstances. Although fundraising cannot take away the pain of losing someone, it can help make a difference to others who may be struggling.
Jack, thank you for the time, effort and kindness you have put into this fundraiser. Making all those chocolate balls yourself, selling every single one in just two hours and choosing to support Mysterious Minds alongside Andy’s Man Club means so much to us.
