Antimicrobial resistance(AMR) is on the increase. Lets all maintain good hand hygiene and infection control practices.

Antimicrobial resistance(AMR) is on the increase. Lets all maintain good hand hygiene and infection control practices.

Antibiotics do not work for problems such as colds and flu, which are caused by viruses.
Using antibiotics when they're not needed encourages harmful bacteria that live inside you to become resistant – also known as antimicrobial resistance.

That means that antibiotics may not work when you really need them. Three steps we can all take to help prevent Antimicrobial Resistance:

• Protect yourself from infections, e.g. by getting vaccinated when eligible
• Only take antibiotics and other antimicrobials when prescribed
• Never share or use leftover antibiotics.
