Rotary Club King's Lynn Priory & Satellite

Rotary Club King's Lynn Priory & Satellite We're a friendly & active club with a range of community & fundraising projects & full social progra https://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/contact.php?ClubID=483

Our Satellite club, established in 2016 is a new generation of clubs for anyone who enjoys meeting new people, having fun and getting involved in raising money for local charities, without the formality and commitment of weekly Rotary meetings. Our Satellite club is closely linked with our sponsoring club King's Lynn Priory Rotary Club and on occassion we collaborate on various projects such as Sw

imarathon to raise as much money as we can for important local charities. We also participate in Rotary International projects such as End Polio Now, ShelterBox disaster relief, and Lend with Care which helps to start up sustainable businesses in poor countries. Our main Rotary group meet regularly at King’s Lynn Golf Club, usually for a two course meal or buffet, where we plan our events or listen to speakers on a wide variety of topics. If you would like to attend one of our meetings or are interested in joining the club please contact us at our website or via our page.

What a night! 🎸

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at St Nicholas’ Chapel for our Yes Please concert.

We were treated to an incredible evening of live music, beginning with a fantastic set from British Rock Experience. Their outstanding musicianship and superb vocals were the perfect start to the evening and had the audience thoroughly entertained.

Then came Yes Please, who absolutely lit up the chapel with a spectacular celebration of the music of YES. From the phenomenal musicianship to the stunning sound and light show, it was a performance to remember.

We're especially proud of our own Rotarian, Peter Oddey, whose technical drumming skills were on full display throughout the evening. What a performance!

The event raised Β£2261.50 for local charities and simply wouldn't have been possible without the support of our generous event sponsor, Trevor Barker. Thank you for helping us bring such a fantastic vening to King's Lynn.

Thank you also to everyone who bought tickets, supported the event, and helped make it such a success. The atmosphere throughout the evening was incredible and we're delighted that so many people enjoyed the experience.

Until next time... 🎢

What an absolutely fascinating evening at Rotary King’s Lynn Priory this week as we welcomed retired Wing Commander David Musgrave and retired Squadron Leader Nigel Watson to speak about their involvement in Operation Mikado during the Falklands War.

David and Nigel gave a gripping first-hand insight into the planning of the proposed covert Hercules landing at Stanley airfield, developed alongside the SAS to counter the feared Exocet missile threat. Hearing about the rushed tactical landing training, the introduction of night vision goggles, and the reality that the crews involved had little expectation of returning safely if the mission had gone ahead was both chilling and deeply moving.

We were also privileged to welcome Paul Millikin, retired Squadron Leader Pilot of the Vulcan V Bomber and Victor K2 Tanker fleet, who spoke about the vital air-to-air refuelling operations that supported the long-range RAF missions during the conflict.

It was a truly memorable evening and an honour to hear these remarkable stories directly from the officers involved in this important chapter of British military history.

A huge thank you to all three gentlemen for sharing their experiences with us.
