Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I’m now helping Verity with this page. If you need to message about attending the group each month, or anything else at all, please feel free to message the page and I’ll see it.

I’ll also be posting monthly reminders about our meet-ups, which take place on the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm at Knights Hill. This has now been confirmed, and we’ll be using The Study for the foreseeable future.

Verity and I have also started having some early conversations about what we might like to do this year in terms of fundraising and Baby Loss Awareness Week.

If you’d like to be involved in any way, or if you have any ideas or suggestions, we’d really love to hear from you.

Wishing you all a very gentle new year 💕

🟣 National Maternity and Neonatal Investigation - Family Evidence Panel 🟣

Local families who have received maternity and/or neonatal care from Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn are being invited to share their feedback to inform the National Maternity Investigation.

Have you recently had a baby with QEH Maternity or a stay on QEH NICU?

What was good? What could be improved?

The Investigation particularly wants to learn from the experiences of women, babies and families who have been harmed during the delivery of maternity and neonatal care to ensure Investigation can learn from these experiences.

On the morning of 25th November the independent review team will be visiting Kings Lynn to interview a small group of recent service users. This feedback will be anonymous but used to inform the themes of the national report.

A £75 gift card will be offered to those who take part on the day. Travel and childcare expenses can also be reimbursed if needed.

To register your interest in being involved please complete the online form and you will be contacted directly by the review team if you have been selected.

Register your interest here: https://forms.gle/z4S29kGcqqvwYRtY6

QEH Maternity and Neonatal teams and QEHKL MNVP do not have any more information about the investigation or the panels. We can only pass on your questions to the independent review team.

after loss…
you start seeing the world differently.

clouds don’t just look like clouds anymore..
they look like messages.
birds stop feeling random.
butterflies linger too long to be coincidence.
and rainbows… they hit different.
they feel like a bridge,
a whisper from heaven saying, “I’m still here.”

you start catching signs in the smallest things,
a song, a smell, a breeze that feels familiar.
and for a second,
you get that comfort you’ve been aching for.
because deep down,
you know they’re still finding ways to reach you.

Tomorrow is the start of Baby Loss Awareness week, I want to say something, I want to share from the heart....

Baby Loss Awareness week is NOT for parents who have gone through loss, let me explain what I mean by that. Bereaved parents don’t need a special month or week to remember....they remember their child 365 days a year, whether the world acknowledges their loss or not.

Whether their baby has been lost early or late in pregnancy, at birth or in early years...they remember.

Baby loss awareness is about shining a light on this subject, a subject that so many are afraid of and so many run from.

But I want to say this, baby loss is not just a story of grief, of pain and of tears, its a story of love, of celebration, of becoming parents. Its a place where grief and love collide, its where dreams lay shattered on the floor, but simultaneously a new view of life can be birthed. It is only when the silent scream has been released from your soul when your heart has been broken in two, that you discover this depth of love and pain even exists....so when the tears are falling, smiles are also breaking forth.

Baby loss is a journey, a lifelong journey....and if you take part in Baby Loss Awareness week let me say thank you. Thank you from me, but also thank you from every parent around the globe who has lost a child....because when you share their post, when you hit like, they will see you, they will hear you.

So today and every day I will stand with others and celebrate my life. I will find joy in the smallest of things, as this is the gift my lost children gave me, but the space they left behind will always remain, for these are my children, and I am their parent...and this week we will honour every child that ran ahead.

I’m sat at work with massive guilt today that I have not organised anything for baby loss awareness week this year, I just wanted to say I’m sorry 😢😔

Life has as always been hectic and before I know it the weeks fly by and it’s upon us. I love to get involved in BLAW not just as I find it helpful for myself but I know how much it means for all the families I have met and continue to meet for us all to remember our babies and share their names and the meaning of this week.

This tSands - baby loss charityalways a strange time for us as a family ,Summer died 26th September 2016 . it’s crazy it’s 9 years ago and the funeral anniversary is coming up on the 20th October I remember going to the first Sands service at the hospital in the October just after Summer died so I just wanted to do a little post for any new / old followers of the page with a few things for baby loss awareness week which starts tomorrow.

Baby loss awareness week is a time the Babyloss community may feel loud, although the week is for our community it isn’t so much for us, it is raising awareness and a time for voices to be heard and stories to be shared, the social media presence of BLAW will be a lot! so it is ok to join this, fully, a little bit or not at all and to take a break from socials for a while, do what feels right for you! nothing is right or wrong everyone knows you love your baby and joining in or not jointing in not make a difference to that, but you must do whatever is right for your own heart♥️

There are a few ways you can join in BlAW if you feel you would like to

The usual hospital service is now the Sunday of BLAW so is therefore 12th October 2025 3pm at the sacred space in the QEH hospital the chaplains talk and play some music , and your babies names can be read out if you would like it to be.

The butterfly garden will also be open during BLAW for Ribbons to be collected and written and hung in the hospital butterfly garden.

Remember to wear your badge and get your friends and family to wear they’res these can be bought at various places I will share some links below to places selling baby loss week items

There is so many more amazing places / charities so have a look at the websites

The week always finished with a Wave of light, this is a worldwide event where everyone is asked to light a candle at 7pm local time which creates a wave of light around the world to remember all the precious babies gone to soon, you can do this wherever you are. I know some are planning on joining together at the butterfly garden at the QEH to do this together and you are very much welcome to join.

I will share some bits on the page over the week for BLAW.

Remember where I am . I’m only a message away.
