Today marks 60 years since the Aberfan disaster.
We remember the 144 people who lost their lives, including 116 children, and all those whose lives were forever changed by the events of 21st October 1966.
Today our thoughts are with their families and the community of Aberfan.

We're excited to be creating jobs and economic growth in the Scottish coalfields!

Today our CRT Property subsidiary has begun work on a 51,500 sq. ft. development in Cowdenbeath - with a share of the rental income used to benefit Scottish coalfield communities from Spring 2028.

The £7.5 million development is being delivered by CRT Property, a subsidiary of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust. £3.757m was secured by Fife Council through The Scottish Government’s Regeneration Capital Grant Fund, the UK Government ( Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade & HM Treasury) is providing £2.5 million of funding through the Growth Mission Fund, subject to business case approval, and CRT Property is providing the remaining amount from its own funds.

This is an exciting new step in our role as the regeneration charity serving coalfield communities. CRT Property has appointed Kilmac Ltd as the principal contractor to deliver the development with the industrial units set for completion in Autumn 2027.

Friday night saw Findlay Russell collect his Volunteer Skills Award (SCQF)! 🎉

Through volunteering at CRT Game On sessions, Finlay has developed a range of skills and personal development experiences working with coaches and young people. Helping Findlay with responsibility, communication and working towards his Duke of Edinburgh Award.

CRT are an approved centre to deliver SQ Volunteer Award where candidates learn about the context of volunteering; plan a volunteering placement; review and reflect on their own skills and volunteering experience; and complete an investigative project.

‘We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.

While the world will remember her as a music legend, we will remember her for the difference she made to children and families through the Imagination Library.

CRT Scotland has been privileged to work in partnership with The Dollywood Foundation, helping hundreds of children across Fife, East Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire receive free books and develop a lifelong love of reading.

Dolly believed every child deserved the chance to dream, learn and succeed. Her kindness, generosity and vision will continue to inspire through every book that arrives on a child's doorstep.
