Wyre Forest Community Transport Supporting independent living These could be medical appointments, lunch clubs, day centres, shopping trips, visiting a friend/relative or travel to college.

Community Transport Wyre Forest is a registered charity which exists to make life easier for people who cannot drive to their destination or use public transport for any reason - or simply don't have any where they live. We provide an affordable service covering Wyre Forest and surrounding villages and help people of all ages, from students to pensioners, driving them from their front door directl

y to their destinations. We utilise volunteer drivers who use their own cars, who are all, trained, insured and DBS checked. They receive reimbursement for their costs. In addition, we have our own fleet of minibuses for transporting passengers and taking our clients on trips. They are all wheelchair-accessible enabling wheelchair users to travel sitting in their own chairs. These vehicles can also be hired by individuals or community groups.

We rely on grants and contributions to keep our vital transport services going - enabling hundreds of people who can't access their own or public transport to live as full and independent lives as possible - to access vital medical appointments and social activities, freeing them from isolation and loneliness and enabling them to enjoy independent living. Many thanks to the High Sheriff of Worcestershire, Maynard Burton, for calling in to see us.
He saw for himself how we are far more than simply a transport service, but a social service.
After chatting with volunteers, staff, passengers and trustees he presented an award to long-serving volunteer Jonathan Haley.
