💦☀️ Water play can be wonderful for little ones — but safety always comes first.
With the recent hot weather (well a good week ago) , many families are understandably looking for ways to help babies and toddlers cool down 💛
Simple water play at home can be a fantastic sensory activity:
🥄 Pouring
💧 Splashing
🧽 Squeezing sponges
👋 Exploring different textures and temperatures
But it’s also an important reminder that even very small amounts of water can pose a danger to young children.
⚠️ Always supervise water play closely
⚠️ Stay within arm’s reach at all times
⚠️ Empty bowls, trays, and paddling pools immediately after use
⚠️ Never assume another adult is watching
At this age, little ones can get into difficulty quickly and quietly, so active supervision is so important 💛
When done safely, water play is an amazing way to support sensory exploration, coordination, and early learning while having lots of fun together ✨
