So i was talking about the town of culture on Saturday and thought we do alot in Grimsby and work in all communitys . I made this yesterday would of prefered it in bright colours but this is from the official palate

So this week im mega busy again hooefully will get to Angel Gowns GYCUK early then at Barton pm . Busy Tuesday then at Huddersfield pm . Funding Fair Wednesday and Caistor arts center Thursday Friday Cleethorpes . So admin is limited this week being as i did 24 hours last week usually only 10 hours max a week also prepping for up and coming workshops

There is no single way to experience or respond to baby loss.
Every family is different.

🩵 The information they need may be different.
🩵 The way they want to remember their baby may be different.
🩵 The support they find helpful may be different.
🩵 And the way they want to spend time with their baby may be different.

Good bereavement care should make space for those differences.
🤍 That means providing clear information.
🤍 Listening to what matters to each family.
🤍 Offering appropriate choices.
🤍 Supporting informed decisions.
🤍 Making space for memory-making.
🤍 Respecting privacy, culture and individual wishes.
🤍 And helping families access the support they need, both immediately and beyond their time in hospital.

Choice should not mean families are left to navigate everything alone.
It means they are given the information, support and opportunity to make decisions that are right for them.

CuddleCot is one part of that wider approach.
Where clinically appropriate, it can give families the option of spending additional time with their baby, whether in a cot or bassinet, or held in their arms.

Because bereavement care is about much more than one intervention.
It is about how we support families through one of the most difficult experiences they may ever face.
Every family deserves to be listened to, given choices and treated with dignity.

Living in deprivation can have a devastating impact on pregnancy outcomes.

For some families, the cost of travel, childcare, time off work and other practical challenges can make it harder to access maternity care and support.

At Sands, we also hear from bereaved parents who are struggling financially following the loss of their baby. Some worry about taking unpaid leave from work, while others face concerns about funeral costs and accessing support.

In the UK, the stillbirth rate for those living in the most deprived areas is 62.5% higher than the least deprived areas, and there are similar disparities in the neonatal deaths. We must do more to reduce these inequalities and ensure support is available to everyone, regardless of where they live or their income.

So far, there has been a lack of focus on addressing inequalities by deprivation and it is vital that the Government reviews barriers to access to antenatal care and how these can be overcome.

Sands continues to campaign for the Government to end inequalities in baby loss - this must include deprivation.

The Sands and Tommy’s Joint Policy Unit have analysed the available data and found that those in more deprived areas are less likely to attend their first midwife appointment before 10 weeks, potentially leading to a delay in management of high-risk conditions or preventative care.
