‼️You’re invited to come see us‼️

Hi All,

Obviously we’ve seen some feedback and appreciate some of the changes we have made to our Summer Social may be frustrating. We’re therefore going to open the pavilion up on Monday 15th June 6:30pm - 8:00pm for anyone to drop in and come have a chat with us and get a better understanding of why we’ve made this decision. We’ll also be available the morning of Saturday 20th for the same, so please come see us in person ☺️

For context this years event is costing us over £8k to put on with very little funding available. We’re forever grateful to Nick Ellis who has supported this event personally for a number of years and to the Village Council this year for their donation, but unfortunately even then that doesn’t cover the costs.

In previous years we’ve run up to the wire of the event to make sure we have the funds to put on a great day for you all. We’re committed to keeping ticket prices low, which allows you to see 6 fantastic acts this year at less than a £1 each and will not move away from keeping our bar as reasonable as possible. What we have to ensure is this event is sustainable and can pay for itself each year, taking away some of the pressure that us as volunteers face in delivering a great day. This also allows us to put on many other free events throughout the year for the whole village to enjoy so we’re not constantly asking for you to dip into your pockets e.g. the cinema night and accoustic nights.

We have a limited number of volunteers so if anyone does want to put themselves forward to help ensure a smooth operation on the day we’re always pleased to welcome you on board.

Hi everyone,

Phoebe here with a few important Summer Social reminders! ☀️

Please take a moment to read the housekeeping information and, most importantly, don’t forget to purchase and collect your tickets.

One small change this year is that no outside drinks will be permitted. Free water and cordial will be available throughout the day for everyone to enjoy.

This decision has been made to help the charity recover some of the costs of running the event and to support the activities they provide throughout the year. Every penny raised goes directly back into the charity, helping them keep ticket prices affordable and enabling them to offer other community events free of charge.

As always, this event is organised entirely by the charity and a fantastic team of local volunteers who give their time to create something special for our village. We hope you’ll support them and help make this year’s Summer Social another great community event.
